The Poem We All Remember. by ManuelRichard(m): 2:31pm On Aug 13, 2015
In this stillness
of a near silent night
Darkness sees its fears.
And my eyes,
stripped of its potency.
Like impact,
on giant door;
My heart
beating against my thorax.
It swallows the shrieks
and squeaks of the night,
so deafening
I can only hear myself.
I am not alone
But this surrounding presence cripples me.
Little lights
From a near starless sky
Not enough guide
To take me home.
So I stayed
I stayed frozen
In the heart of one long night..
encapsulated in darkness's thrill
That I could barely voice
"MOTHER!"...
She heard
And the hold
of a child's fear;
Lost to the lifting
of one assuring grip,
Darkness knows fear.......
