Stacey Knox’s father was too ill to give her a kidney but was then killed in a horrific road accident

A woman who has needed a kidney transplant for almost two years has been given the gift of life but lost her father at the same time.

Stacey Knox has suffered from Type 1 diabetes since she was just seven-years-old but when her kidneys began failing two years ago, her family feared the worst.

At the time, her dad, Anthony Jenkins, wanted to donate his kidney but was stopped from doing so because he had suffered a heart attack and was not thought well enough to survive the surgery.

But in a cruel twist, Anthony was finally able to help his daughter after he died in a horrific road accident in Bear, Delaware, on Friday.
