Data Management Is More Efficient In MTK Than Spectrum Devices? by nenergy(m): 10:36am On Aug 24, 2015
Innovations in mobile technology and data cost has made mobile internet a nightmare for many. Hence, many smart phone users (including myself) use firewalls and other data management apps to cut monthly data cost.

I used "No-Root Firewall on my Tecno M7 (MTK) and data consumption was very low. I could use 1gb for 3-4 weeks on mobile only.

I recently bought the new iTel iNote prime (Spectrum) and discovered that data consumption went through the roof, because applications were bypassing the firewall.

I rooted the phone and downloaded other root & no-root firewall and there hasn't been any improvement.

With all this, can I conclude that Data management is more efficient in MTK than Spectrum devices?

I used NO-Root firewall on my last Phone and it worked very well. When I got the new phone, NO-Root firewall didn't work well. Then I downloaded NORoot data firewall...no good too!

I rooted the note with kingroot and downloaded Driodwall, Mobiwall and Afwall (something like that). None worked well

Hence my conclusion, that MTK devices are better for data management.

Aside data consumption, what's your take on the battery performance and overall performance of the tablet?
