I stay in a single room apartment in a terrace style building. All flats are on the ground and I will definitely have neighbors passing in front of my flat time and time again. I will love to get a dog and made my search but I have found it difficult getting one with these particular needed qualities.

1. No excessive barking: this automatically chalks out Alsatians and rots from my list. The noise will not only drive me crazy but drive me out of the house when neighbours complain

2. Clean enough to stay indoors when I'm around. I could always have it potty trained and doing its poops during morning jogs

3. Not destructive: yes, very key. I don't want to be in the room and it's busy tearing up the sofa in the living room.

4. Doesn't require high level of maintenance: I thought of a Terrier but it's long fur can be a turnoff, I amy not have enough time to give it a bath twice and week, with all the oiling and stuff

5. Likes to cuddle and play around the house: a wonderful companion dog in short.

I came up with two options, a cane corso( I hate the appearance of the Neapolitan) but these dogs can get so big in the near future, a Terrier but for the reason mentioned in No. 4 above.

Go for a Samoyed then , they are cool, playful , barks little and very friendly

Get a Samoyed or a Lhasa but the issue with Samoyed if you don't socialise it well , chai it will bark at anything that crosses it way but the good thing is it cant bite

Please just go and get a cat. There's no dog I know that meets the criteria you've listed.

All those suggesting lhasa and samoyed should go back and read points 1 and 4.

These two breeds of dogs, in spite of their size, can bark non-stop for a considerable period of time. Their barks are not loud though but very persistent and shrill.

She is not dumb bro, that's how I train my dogs because I'm a light sleeper and all my dogs lives indoor.
My flat is on the 2nd floor of my building while the Landlord is just above me on the third floor, keeping a noisy dog in my flat will automatically switch my Landlord's attention towards me and my household and I'm sure you wouldn't even wish that for your worst enemy.
