Teddyson’
FEATURED
The way he called you ‘baby’ was nauseating.
The kind of nausea you get when you saw beggars with sore eyes stare at you hoping to irritate you enough, that you hurriedly dropped 50 Naira notes in their Violet plates.
But you smiled instead and forced down the 7500 Naira fried rice and turkey he had bought you at ‘Mama Taurius’.
You hadn’t been hungry but because he had kept asking you to take something, massaging your thighs as he looked hungrily at your cleavage. You knew he was Hard already and if you refused to eat he would take you directly to the Hotel and Ravish you. You hoped to prolong the act for as long as you could. It wasn’t as if you didn’t have a choice, you just wanted to distract yourself from the inner pain. So you had told the waiter to get you Fried Rice and Turkey with the skin intact. He had taken pounded Yam and Efo.
“I am a big eater” he had told you when the waiter left. He said it with a big grin and smirk that suggested he meant more than food. And you had felt irritated. It wasn’t the grin that irritated you, No. It wasn’t him either, it was you who irritated yourself. But you had pretended to be pleased because you knew he said that so you would anticipate the night passion. It was a tactis males did when they wanted a woman ready for them. You knew this because of Teddyson.
You had picked on your meal annoyingly slowly, and pretended to be interested in the plate and food because you didn’t like the way he gulped down his pounded yam balls. It was too fast, Teddyson always took his time eating, like it was part of the process of digestion.
“You still have much on your plate, you eat very slowly” he had said as he washed his hands.
You shrugged and looked at the next table. Two ladies were having a discussion and it seemed like some sort of a meeting because they had papers on their table which they refered to frequently.
“Do you do everything this slowly?”
You turned to stare at him lost for a moment until he nods towards your plate. The you smile suggestively and bite into your turkey laps staring into his eyes and watched as he swallowed slowly. He had lust written all over his face. Well that should shut him up till you finished your meal.
Teddyson had always told you that your smile and straight look had always been the reason he hadn’t been able to argue with you. It always made him loose his train of thought and agreed to your suggestion.
But it hadn’t stopped him from breaking your heart and walking away from your life when you had needed him the most.
He hadn’t been thinking of the Stare when he had put that call through to you on that rainy July morning and telling you he had left town and that he was sorry but the situation was just too overwhelming for him to bear.
It was the hope of the power of your stare, that had had you begging to please let you see him and talk things through. But it was also his fear of your stare that made him refuse and drop the line.
You had kept calling for months daily, hourly, but he had deactivated that line and all his accounts online. No Facebook, no Twitter, no Whatsapp, no BBM. There was just no way you could get in touch with him. He had left and taken with all traces, well… almost all except for the baby growing daily in your womb.
The baby he had begged you to get rid off.
The baby you had determined to keep.
The baby you had both plannedon having.
The baby he had opened a trust for and which he had kept funding because you kept getting alerts and monthly statements of his renewals.
The baby he cared for but didn’t want.

Its 07:15am and you are coming into the hotel from your gym training where you and Mr. Enebeli had slept in last night. It hadn’t been a bad night. Enebeli hadn’t been a terrible man afterall. He had been tender and conscious of your needs.
“Do you think we can make a relationship out of this?” He had asked you when he was getting ready to leave this morning.
“I don’t know” you had replied him because as much as you liked him now, you didn’t know just for how long the ‘likeness’ would last before you found him irritating.
He had stared at you for a minute before he had bent and planted a kiss on you cheek, then taken his suit jacket and left.
He was the fifth guy you were going out with since ‘Teddyson Jnr’s birth’ and weaning period was over four years ago. You were becoming tired of this dissatisfaction and irritation that developed after six months of knowing a guy.
You always started well but somehow, someway it always got sour. Becky had said you were looking for Teddyson in all these men and it wasn’t fair to them and yourself. That you could never find Teddyson in anyone else except in Teddyson. But you couldn’t help it.
It wasn’t your fault that Teddyson had been your perfect match.
It wasn’t your fault that your heart had left with him.
It wasn’t your fault that ‘Teddyson Jnr’ decided to look so much like his father, having that devastating smile that you had loved so much in his father.
It really wasn’t your fault that you couldn’t stop loving him and feeling incomplete without him.
It wasn’t also your fault that you were using all these guys as rebound men, hoping and waiting for Teddyson to come back.
