Dr. Abayomi Ajayi is a consultant Obsterician and Gynaecologist and the Managing Director, Nordica Fertility Centre, Lagos, a clinic that specialises in In-Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) and treatment of infertility for the couples facing fertility problem in marriages. When fertility medicine is being mentioned in Nigeria, NORDICA Fertility Centre comes to mind, how did you get to where you are today, despite the challenges?
Well, I don’t know which position I’m now but everything is God’s favour. God favoured us for the fact that we were willing to launch into an unknown territory.
About 11 years ago, when we moved into fertility treatment in Nigeria, it was still an unknown terrain that the people were saying it would not work due to poor infrastructure.

They will always look for something to attach the expensive costs to....Drugs that are sold in pharmacies for example,#6k, this fertility clinics will sell theirs #12-#14k... what manner of profit is that? ...and to think this pharmacies sef are making their own gain too ooo...

Comprehensive fertility tests for a couple that could go for between #50-#70k, one fertility hospital will be charging #120-#150k....for what na?...

Another annoying thing is how they could care less and make a couple spend through their nose,when they could actually take tame to treat the patient before the procedure commence...Customer care nkor? Zero...

They will always blame it on light,as if there's no light supply at all in that area...

Its like you are talking from a bitter experience ... why not name names so that others will not pass through same experience. I have had experiences with Nordica and they are as plain to you from the get go. The prices of their treatments are on their website... with that in place, i dont think anyone will want to charge you different from your budget. As per customer care, one is treated as "family".

This should be widely encouraged in Nigeria, too many couples looking for kids.
