May University Press Limited, Lagos, a growing publishing firm, has vacancies for qualified individuals as Writers, Assistant Editors, and Business/Sales Officers.
1. WRITERS
Roles and responsibilities
1. Conduct research to obtain factual information and authentic detail, utilizing sources such as libraries and archives, newspaper accounts, diaries, and interviews;
2. Create and submit write-ups for approval, and re-write and revise written works to meet standards required by the company and its clients;
3. Take on various writing, re-writing and reading assignments.

Requirements

1. A good first degree in the humanities or social sciences;
2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a sound knowledge of the structure and uses of English in various contexts;
3. A minimum of two (2) years work experience in a related position;
4. Good planning and research skills

2. ASSISTANT EDITORS
Roles and responsibilities
1. Edit and re-write manuscripts to improve readability.
2. Read copy or proof to detect and correct errors in spelling, punctuation, and syntax.
3. Handle various aspects of publication production
4. Read, evaluate and edit manuscripts or other materials submitted for publication and confer with authors regarding changes in content, style or organization, or publication.

Requirements

1. A good first degree in the humanities or social sciences;
2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a sound knowledge of the structure and uses of English in various contexts;
3. A minimum of three (3) years work experience in a related position;
4. Good planning, research, organizational and project management skills

1. BUSINESS & SALES OFFICERS
Roles and responsibilities
1. Participate in the development of marketing strategies.
2. Source for and manage new clients.
3. Negotiate and close deals with clients.
Requirements
1. A good first degree.
2. A strong flair for marketing and sales.
3. An positively aggressive and result-oriented attitude to work.
4. Minimum of two (2) years work experience in a related position.
5. Ability to build strong relationships with clients and internal team.
6. Excellent skills in communication, organization, and persuasion.
