1. Wizkid & Tania Wizkid is definitely having one of the best years of his career as he is gearing towards the release of his much acclaimed international album and the first one off his own ‘StarBoy’ label. As Wizkid has been travelling a lot and trying to build his international recognition to a higher level, he seemed to be tired of his Nigerian girlfriend, Tania Omotayo and announced he’s single. Wizkid was wished a happy birthday by his ex-girlfriend who gushed about how long they’ve been together and Wizkid surprisingly announced he was single when asked by a fan. The Star Boy was recently spotted flirting with American singer, Dej Loaf on ‘gram a while ago and it appears he’s moved on from Tania. Sad breakup, but it is what it is… maybe these two would always find a way to come back and re-connect.

2. Ubi Franklin and Emma Nyra This is without an atom of doubt one of the most dramatic breakups we’ve experienced this year as both parties spilled a lot after the going between them went sour. Ubi Franklin and Emma Nyra called it quits sometime late 2014, but the drama was revealed to us this year when both parties came out with accusations. After all the bashing and chastisement on the press, the pair have since moved on with their individual lives. Ubi Franklin is now engaged and even had his introduction recently to actress Lilian Esoro’s family, while Emma Nyra who is now off Triple MG is working on her debut album.

3. D’banj and Bonang Matheba D’banj is one of the biggest music export out of Africa today and his love life has been something of an on and off thing as he’s been linked to a number of hot women around the world from delectable actress Genevieve Nnaji to Real Housewives of Atlanta star, Kenya Moore and most recently, South-African media sweetheart, Bonang Matheba. D’banj and Bonang Matheba were rumored to be dating and both didn’t finally disclose their relationship until at the MAMA Awards recently where they both locked lips and shared a passionate kiss before D’banj went on to receive his award at the event. A few weeks after that D’banj took to his social media to wish his ex- girlfriend, Adamma Ndimi and revealed in the caption that he loved her so much, and that really sparked up a roaring controversy that made Bonang Matheba reveal she was single.

4. Toke Makinwa and Maje Ayida This particular breakup has been tagged as one of the biggest we’ve seen this year so far. After news of Maje Ayida impregnating his long term mistress hit the blogosphere, his wife popular media personality Toke Makinwa split from her husband. The most visible proof of their separation was when Toke Makinwa removed her wedding picture from her living room. Maje Ayida has apologized to his wife but currently Toke and Maje are not together. We hope these two can settle their differences and come together as one once again, as they used to be one of our favorite celebrity couple each time they step out.

5. Emeka Ike and Emma Ike The marriage of the popular Nollywood actor, Emeka Ike has been shaky since 2014, but his marriage to Emma Ike crashed publicly this year. Emma Ike filed for divorce from her husband on the grounds of emotional and physical abuse from her actor husband. Emeka Ike has denied laying a single finger on his wife. He has even begged her to come back home. Divorce proceedings are still going on. It appears that all plea by Emeka Ike to his wife has fallen on deaf ears as his wife isn’t ready to give her husband a chance anymore.

6. Toyin Aimakhu and Adeniyi Johnson
Apparently, this is the freshest celebrity split we’ve experienced this year
and it just came to public notice a few days ago that Toyin Aimakhu and
her husband, Adeniyi Johnson are on the verge of totally calling it quits as
it was revealed that Adeniyi Johnson cheated severally on his wife.
Adeniyi Johnson has pleaded publicly to his wife to please forgive him, but
she’s yet to respond to that.

Before the year runs out,let's hope and pray the figures remain this way.
