At least 26 suspected pirates and 7,000 copies of pirated films, especially pornographic films were confiscated by the Nigeria Copyright Commission and Lagos State Film and Video Censors Board during a three-day anti-piracy raid across the state.

The three-day raid, which was carried out in collaboration with the Yoruba Movie Producers/Marketers Association of Nigeria covered Iyana-Ipaja, Agege, Oshodi, Ijora, Orile Iganmu and Obalende.

Executive Secretary of the LSFVCB, Mr. Bamidele Balogun who disclosed this yesterday, said the raid was part of the continuous effort to rid the State of the sale of pirated and unclassified movies asserting that those that were caught during the raids will be tried and brought to justice.
