They just made me the head teacheR of a school.a nursery and primary school nd dey ask me 2 create a student data base and also record every about d school on d computer.pls am confuse any body wit idea on how 2 do it shud explain 2 me.I wilLL b very greatful 2 hear ur contributions.pls tell me wat nd wat nid 2 b recorded on the computer abt d school nd how 2 do it.

There is an easier and affordable way to do it ..

1: Get MS Access (Microsoft Access Database Software)
2: Build a list of Tables; these are stores for information that you can relate with other stores of information such as. Members of Staff (Head Teachers, Exchange Teachers, Youth-corper teachers, Cleaners, Security Staff, Drivers etc) School Information (Address, Bankers, Regulators etc) Course Curriculum, Various Class Names (Blue House, Green House, Nursery A B C, Primary E F G H etc) Student Data + Parent/Guardian Data) , School Fees and Dues Configuration (various school fees and addtional fees for optional services (Music Swiming lessons etc) Registration Information (Date Registered, Fees applied and status of any outstandings owed) Payment Table to track various cheque and cash payments, discounts, waivers etc) Student Performance Measurement (Motor Skills,Mental Acuity, Language, Comprehension etc) there is more table store classifications to make the final product intuitive to use.
3: Plan on what reports you want to publish.. Student Growth, Student Performance Comparisons, Teacher Performance based on results of exams and tests, Awards Selection, Debt/Credit Ratio, Payment Receipt Schedules, etc

With a properly designed database all you need to do is train anyone who has basic computer skills to start keying in records. Data Vlidation will of course be built in to eliminate errors
