IMO DEPUTY GOVERNOR PREACHES AGAINST VIOLENCE AMONG YOUTH
... Describes Governor Okorocha as Lover of Peace

Imo Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere, yesterday, called on Nigerian Youths to eschew violence in whatever guise, saying the act destroys their future.

He stated this while receiving Queen Perpetua Ufondu, Miss Ambassador for Peace who paid a courtesy call to him in his office in government house, Owerri.

Prince Madumere while congratulating Miss Ufondu on her emergence and for bringing honour to Imo state, advised her to use the opportunity to embark on a programme that will instill spirit of peace and tolerance in them.

He decried the spate of violence among the youth especially students in the high institutions, which he attributed to cultism and nefarious activities that breed violence. he warned the consequences of such act, which he said has caused untimely deaths of promising youth.

Speaking further, the number two citizen of Imo State charged Miss Ambassador of Peace to braze up in campaign for tolerance among the young Nigerians.

He reminded Miss Ufondu of the premium Imo State Governor places on peaceful coexistence among the people of Imo State and Nigerians at large irrespective of their diversity.

He also narrated how Governor Okorocha for the first time under National Peace Forum reconciled Nigerian leaders even those whose relationships seemed irretrievable.
He therefore assured Miss Unfondu that government will play a required role for her to succeed.

Speaking earlier Miss Ufondu narrated her history of having loved and pursued peace even as a teenager. She said it was this trait that attracted her to contesting for the revered pageantry.

She however extol Imo Deputy Governor and his principal, Governor Okorocha for their love for Peace, the reason she insisted on working with great leaders who have history of sacrifices for peace.

He further unveiled her pet project of embarking campaign against violence and all illicit activities that breed violence among the youth. She also revealed her consideration to also visit indigent widows to give them hope, which she said the inspiration came from the wife of the Governor, Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha who in no little measure affective the lives of the indigent widows, the act she said will bring about peace even at home.
