I stroll through the states of this land- with barefeet, silently absorbing sheer tremor of the grounded element I enjoy (earth). . . and tiptoe across the searing 'heat' of Sahara and the lava lakes and
melted core tarpits!

Straight to the states of polar bears, penguins and twilight zones where eletromagnetic forcefields at night imprints you with displays of aurora. . .

Ahh. . . but such winds could numb in regard to sparse flora.

So my dear landers, tread wisely and share your tale if you please. . .

Be my guest. . .

I stood on the plateau- a prominent feature- allowing the mind to wander, as do my gaze over highs and lows- 180 impartial degrees in no fair measure. . .

I'm mad at you, you see- my way of venting and letting out steam.
I remember strolling down this very hill and across others through tiny oozing creeks and leaping gaping vallies.

Our brother with the handicap- yes, I owe him a visit or rather visits. To relate my tale of uneasiness.

He's better at scripts than you or me. And has been cheated by unscruplous means. I aim to go after the 9th and wish to talk to you.

But how?

Your acts yell you're through. Was it me? Was it you?

Dammit! I risk my dignity to spill beans, water
and garri. . .

And yet. . .

(Sighs). . . Folk are beginning to notice-
I should jog back. . .

RHYTHM

Glide,

Sway,

Twist.

Northward,

South,

West to East.

Alerts via Wind,

Urges vibrating Strings,

Eyes with brimming Tears,

Vocals inspired to Sing.

Soft Bellows,

Soul Stirring,

Of Congo drums,

And Kora strings.

Beckons to me,

Beckons to you,

Hypnotic spells of Music's Rhythm.

RISE AND FALL

Every twilight, A Rise. A Fall.

Every moon, She Rise to its Call.

Every season, It Springs to Fall.

Every Age Rises,  in time to teach Shoots its Roots- Past Falls.

Still sober I am, yet cheered from today's significance as well as thoughtful words.

Cross-legged, ruminating and nibbling on fries for dinner with my roomie and sister.

The temperature rose a bit. I stood, went to check the chips, stripped and resumed position . . .

My cell
flashed a familiar face- startling me. . .
t'was he. . .
The device continued buzzing: One. . .
(what would I say?!)
Two. . .(what would he say?)
Three. . .
(my heart's pounding harder)

It stopped ringing.

I lost my appetite all of a sudden. . .
reached for a pillow and laid flat.

My roomie, from the kitchen call
''Are you sleepy already? You're not watching the movie?''

'Mmh,' I replied. 'Not ternite. Nigh-night.'

Moving onto my side- and away from her curious eyes-
I inwardly wept and prayed. . .

Ikhide R. Ikheloa

"A true classic, as I should like it defined, is an author who has enriched the human mind, increased its treasure, and caused it to advance a step; who has discovered some moral and not equivocal truth, or revealed some eternal passion in that heart where all seemed known and discovered; who has expressed his thought, observation, or invention in no matter what form, only provided it be broad and great, refined and sensible, sane and beautiful in itself; who has spoken in his own peculiar style, a style which is found to be also that of the whole world, a style without neologism, new and old, easily contemporary with all time."

- Charles Augustin Sainte-Beuve in an 1850 essay..

Iroh: Fire is the element of power... The people ... have desire and will, and the energy and drive to achieve what they want.
.
Earth is the element of substance... The people ... are diverse and strong. They are persistent and enduring.
.
Air is the element of freedom. The ... Nomads are detached ... from worldly concerns and found peace and freedom. (Also, they apparently have a pretty good sense of humour!)
.
Water is the element of change. The people ... are capable of adapting to many things. They have a deep sense of community and love that holds them together through anything.
.
Zuko: Uncle, why are you telling me these things?
.
Iroh: It is important to draw wisdom from many different places. If we take it from only one place, it becomes rigid and stale.
Understanding others, the other elements and the other nations... will help you become whole.
.
Zuko, you must let go of your feelings of shame if you want your anger to go away.
.
Zuko: But I don't feel any shame at all! I'm as proud as ever!
.
Iroh: Prince Zuko, pride is not the object of shame, but it's source.
True humility is the only antidote to shame.
.
Zuko: Well, my life is nothing but humbling lately.
