Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI) - A President Barak Obama and USAID youth initiative.

United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the consortium partners that make up the Regional Leadership Center (RLC) are enthusiastic about establishing the Emerging Leaders Program to provide the tools, opportunities and leadership skills tailored to empowering young African leaders across West Africa.

The Emerging Leaders Program will teach young African leaders about modern leadership over a period of 17 weeks. The program will be broken down into four phases - a 5 week coursework phase delivered in-person in Ghana, or online and the remaining 12 weeks (back home) distributed equally among a mentorship program, internship or community service, and a report writing period.

Focusing on the 5 week coursework phase, it will entail three core courses (Leadership and Accountability, Ethics, and Contemporary issues affecting Africa) and one elective course selected from a sample of three courses covering three themes, namely Entrepreneurship, Public Sector Management, and Civil Society Leadership.

We are committed to achieving the objectives of the Regional Leadership Center that will lead to a long-term sustainable impact in youth development in Sub-Saharan Africa.

What will Assessor's be tasked to do?
Assessor's will review and evaluate the applications of candidates from their country (and some times from other countries) in the processes of filtering down to secure top candidate applications to join the Accra RLC this July 2015.

Ideally, we are looking for assessors from (or residing) in the following countries:
- Nigeria
- Ghana
- Ivory Coast
- Liberia
- Burkina Faso
- Togo
- Sierra Leone
- The Gambia
