The Rivers State Governorship Election Tribunal sitting in Abuja has ruled on the three contentious motions that were earlier reserved, before the Court of Appeal.
According to daily post, the tribunal decided all three motions in favour of the petitioners, who are the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its governorship candidate, Dakuku Peterside.
The motions include the issue of eligibility of the petition on the grounds of twenty-one days deadline as required by INEC for the filing of nomination form of the APC candidate.
The Tribunal also dismissed the motion challenging the service of the originating summons on the respondent, saying that it lacked merit.

The tribunal, however, struck out some sections of the APC’s petition that have to do with allegations against security agents and persons whose names were not specifically mentioned in the petition.

Meanwhile, hearing continues at the tribunal sitting in Abuja, with the petitioners calling in additional witnesses to support their case.
