Unknown gunmen have reportedly abducted the son of the newly appointed Vice Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, Prof. Ndowa Laale.

Public Relations Officer of Uniport, William Wordi disclosed this to the media in Port Harcourt.

Wordi said the VC’s son, Ejiru Laale was kidnapped around 7pm Monday night in his father’s home at Ebubu, Eleme in Rivers State.

The Police in the state are yet to confirm the abduction.

Ejira is a decent guy. The rate of kidnapping in a Ebubu is becoming alarmy. We staying their is by his grace, cultizen,stealing etc we need help oh from d gov if nt I pray oh. Ppl pack everyday 4m Ebubu cos of wots going on we r 4m there were do we go?

Anambra came down well on kidnapping issue(instant death penalty). Rivers state is doing virtually nothing on it. My wife was kidnapped last week and the police even demanded money to start investigation. When i paid and waited for the outcome of the investigation-thy kingdom come-i had to go,negotiate with the kidnappers and bring my wife back. In river state kidnapping is the booming biz now.no where in the state is safe.Police if not an accomplice to them is doing nothing other than collecting money from the victims. Pray for rivers state.
