A friend of mine ask this question today.

I'm of the opinion that a computer system when given a task of processing data one after the other ( one by one) will do it's job effectively and efficiently.

But if the computer system is given a job that is more than that (processing data in batches and not one by one). It is bound to crash at a particular time.

This is a very vague/unclear question.

Of course a computer can fail to do/complete a task....

Sometimes there are errors, each task is assigned a PID (or a process ID) in the background or foreground that it performs. However, sometimes tasks can't be performed due to event errors at Kernel level or some other stuff.
