You Should Not Have Gone To Chelsea - Alves Tells Pedro by Nobody: 1:04pm On Oct 12, 2015
The Brazil and Barcelona defender Dani Alves has lamented the move by Pedro Rodriguez to Chelsea, saying he should not have left the Catalan giants.
This follows lacklustre performances by the English champions, which see them placed 16th after eight matches. Pedro left the European champions for Chelsea for a fee of £21 million late in the transfer window despite interest from other clubs including Manchester United.
The arrival of Luis Suarez last season had restricted Pedro’s first-team chances as Bacelona’s attacking trio of Messi, Neymar and Suarez arguably became the most potent strike-force in club football.
Alves said:“I told Pedro he should have stayed at the team but too many people got involved. Had he stayed, he would have been happy here, but we don’t make the decisions. If we did, I would want him to stay for years.” Chelsea’s new striker had a big impact on his debut as Pedro scored one and also made an assist in their 3-2 win against West Bromwich Albion.
