Disclaimer: This write-up wasn’t created to rate or favor any artist. In other-words, this is not a Chart.

This year is undeniably a tough year in the music industry as new artists refused to lay low for some of the already famed while the few out of many famed artists decide to tighten their belts in the industry.

We at 360NoBS.com decided to take time out and talk about some of the artists in the music industry at the moment, grab a drink of your choice as we present to you The Most Talked About African Artists of 2015 So Far.

Olamide
Baddoo has taken no chill since the beginning of the year as he kept dishing out not just tunes but GOOD TUNES and killing almost every song he was featured on. This young man caught the attention of the whole Nigeria when he released the song “Bobo” which was accompanied with a currently trending dance step; but he didn’t stop till he threw ”Melo Melo” and “Lagos Boys” at our faces. Don’t forget Olamide released his fourth studio album “Street OT” last year which kept us all wondering if he was from this world; four albums, four years in the music industry; you can’t just help but respect this man.

Vic O
When you’ve been tagged as a joke but see yourself as the next big thing and even go as far as dissing Drake and Meek Mill, you definitely should be called a Showstopper. Nigerian viral sensation – Vic O, has been the most wanted act by the Nigerian media for interviews since he released R.I.P. This dude worked his ass to get the internet hypnotized with his artistry.

Davido
O.B.O (Baddest!) made 2014 an unforgettable year for music lovers with the song Aye which later became the Song of the year. Davido can be labeled as the only Nigerian artist who successfully killed and made an Uhuru produced track a huge success with the tune “The Sound”. He also featured Meek Mill on the track “Fans Mi” off his soon to be released album; and apart from having an international standard, the Sesan directed video which accompanied the song also called the attention of the Nigerian Drug Agency.

Wizkid
On like last year, Starboy records boss is indeed having the smoothest year since he kick-started his music career; talking about the huge success of the track Ojuelegba. Like we all know HIS Grace can take you Where your money can never take you. Do we have to mention the Drake & Skepta, Swizz Beat & Alicia Keyz saga?

AKA
27 year old, South African rapper Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, better known by his stage name AKA is the definition of new school hip-hop. Maybe because it seems like South Africa has taken over the hip-hop genre in Africa as a continent. AKA who has been having issues with Cassper Nyovest tuned-up the heat when he released the well accepted song – Composure; where he practically killed two big birds (Cassper Nyovest and Anatii) with a stone.

Reminisce
Mature, Versatile and Deep are some of the many words that describe this Rapper. The self-acclaimed Alaga Ibile was featured on TIME.com as one the rappers that is revolutionizing the world of rap and should be known apart from the Rap god – Eminem. Like he said on his track Government: “I’ve moved on to greater things, mi o ba yin se re B#TCHES”; made some of those ‘I’m a rapper’ have a rethink.

Cynthia Morgan
Amidst a lot of controversies surrounding the self-acclaimed dancehall godmother – Cynthia Morgan arises. To us, she has been the only female act that has dropped hits back to back i.e; from German Juice to Come And Do to Simanta Niya. She is indeed the godmother of the dancehall genre.

Timaya
From a common plantain seller to the ‘Egberi Papa 1 of the Nigerian Music Industry’. Apart from Wizkid, Mr. Timaya, who some of your favorite artists see as the go-to person for lectures/motivation on how the Nigerian music industry works, has been on a roll, making his music heard around the world. Even the BBHMM crooner, Rihanna grooved to his tune during the Crop Over Carnival in Barbados.

Vector
Vector seemed to have lost his stand in the music industry until he released the tune which can be called the best rap song released in 2015 so far i.e; King Kong, which happens to have three [3] different versions; and clearly, the Viper didn’t strike with the same verse on all versions. Clearly, to handle the kind of scale of a rapper who can freestyle for two [2] hours, you need more than Osagie.

Sarkodie
When you can confidently pay an international rapper to feature on your track and still murder hi, you can only be categorized among the G.O.A.T. Ghanaian heavyweight rapper – Sarkodie. His raps, which are mostly in ‘Twi’, captured the internet when he released one the most anticipated hip-hop tunes ‘New Guy’ which featured Hood Nations rapper, Ace Hood.

Diamond Platinumz
Recently no award nomination is complete without this Tanzanian superstar who roused to fame after releasing the well accepted tune Number 1 (remix) last year. Since then Diamond Platinumz has erased the word ‘CHILL’ from his checklist as he keeps making music not only appreciated in his zone but all around Africa.

Cassper Nyovest
When you’re busy trying to make history by filling up the Dome and another A-List rapper disses you on a track, you’ll certainly be the topic on everyone’s mouth. Award winning South African rapper and Ghetto crooner – Cassper Nyovest is no doubt one of the best that’s ever done it and still doing it. Oops! how can we forget how he took charge of social media when he released his official AKA reply… #Dust2Dust

Conclusion: We know some artists worthy of being mentioned weren’t mentioned, but that doesn’t mean they are not doing well. If you see or think anything is wrong with this write-up please don’t fail to spit it out in the comment box below.
