The Barclays Premier League season may be
only eight matches old but it seems some people
have already figured out how the season will end
in May.
According to Talksport, a sports technology and
data company, Stats.com, has given out the final
outcome of the current Barclays Premier League
season thanks to a complex algorithm that was
used by their super computer.
Based on the algorithm, current champions
Chelsea will finish the current season in 4th
position with 72 points. The Blues have had a
tough start to their season and they currently are
16th on the table.
Manager Jose Mourinho has come under fire for
the team’s performances but he has been
backed by the club despite daring the team’s
management to sack him if it wanted to.
The super computer also predicted that
Manchester City will win the title with 80 points.
The Citizens started their season with 15 points
from their first five matches but losses to West
Ham and Tottenham have given them reminders
of their vulnerabilities but they are still tipped to
win the title especially with the addition of Kevin
De Bruyne who has given assists and goals to
drive their title pursuit.
Louis Van Gaal’s Manchester United have been
tipped to finish 3rd this season with 75 points.
The Red Devils spent in the summer on Memphis
Depay, Matteo Darmian, Bastian Schweinsteiger
and Morgan Schneiderlin but they are yet to
regain their mean streak from the Sir Alex
Ferguson era.
Their Dutch manager is expected by fans to get
them to improve on their 4th place from last
season but they need to win a lot more away
from home than they did last season.
The algorithm said Arsenal would finish second
behind Manchester City with 78 points.
The Gunners have been criticised for not having
the spine to make an extra push for the title but
their recent 3-0 demolition of Manchester United
could be a sign that they are now ready to blow
past any top side.
Stats.com’s super computer also predicted
Liverpool to finish 5th with 65 points in Jurgen
Klopp’s first season at the club.
The German was brought in to replace Brendan
Rodgers but he must now lead the team to
prove the computer right or wrong.
Newcastle’s forecast is that they will finish 15th
with 38 points while Swansea, Leicester is tipped
to place 13th with 45 points and Swansea will
end up in 11th place with 47 points.
There were also predictions for the bottom three.
Bournemouth are to finish 18th with 36 points,
Aston Villa will finish in 19th place with 34
points, and Sunderland will end up in 20th with
32 points.
