How Not Having An Online Presence Is Sabotaging Your School Growth by kosisoOkafor: 12:07pm On Oct 28, 2015
The truth remains that the rule of the game has changed, what worked ten years ago, is not what’s working today. Ten years ago, internet has not gained traction, social media was just starting, every body was comfortable doing same old thing they were used to. Mobile phone did not enjoy the level of acceptance, it’s enjoying today, there was no online school portal that processes result in real time, and also makes it available for students and parents for viewing and printing while just sitting at the comfort of their home. Friends, things has changed, holding on to the fading old method, will only make you to go down with it. Therefore is wisdom to hug on to this moving train, a change that’s sweeping our overall way of doing things, or risked frustration. Quickly i will show you how this changes is sabotaging your school growth.

1. No Working School Website

In Nigeria today more than 78 million people are online, 6 billion people globally, having a website in today’s world is as important as having a school building, a school without building is not ready for business, like wise a school without a website. Every parents wants the best school to enrol their children, now, school business is one of the most competitive ever, to stand out you need you need to exhume credibility, parents are not satisfy again with the status quo again, they want more, having a website is one of such way to position your school as a leader.

2. Social Media Presence

Social media basically are tools for connectivity like Facebook, twitter, Instagram and the rest of them, today in Nigeria, more people are on social media than people living in the entire state of lagos. Social media gives your school exposure, now gone are the days where schools are mainly for people living within the particular physical location of a school, social media positions your school to attract students from far and near, it is also creates a bond between your school and your students. Schools that are not on social media are levelling the ground for competition to sweep off the little that is remaining.

3. Online school management software

Now somebody might be asking, what’s the different between our website and online school software, website is just an online catalogue that gives a basic information about your school to the outside world, school management software is an online tool for management of some of the difficult and delicate task in your school like result processing. As simple as it sounds, a school without an online school management software is making it self vulnerable to competition. Things have changed, people wants to access their term result any where ,any time. The era of paper report card is gone, and the manual process of processing is mauled with some much errors, that can destroy the reputation of school in split seconds. Your school is a brand, only a brand with strong reputation can strive effectively in a competitive market, don’t allow human errors to destroy the reputation of your school.
