Job Description



Responsible for the development of strategies related to core and new programs, as well as management of volunteers.
Work with Executive Director to define and implement funding strategies for JAN programs
Responsible for preparing a detailed budget for each program and tracking adherence to budget for all programs.
Responsible for preparing quarterly progress reports on programs & budget for the programs Committee of the JAN Board.
Responsible for developing and implementing an analytic and reporting framework for program performance monitoring
Monitor, control and report progress in execution of implementation of initiatives to the Executive Director
Implement project management standards and tools for all JAN programs
Identify risks / issues to implementation of programs, resolve or escalate to Executive Director
Monitor financial, administrative and human resource implications of implementation of programs and report to Executive Director
Drive the development of stronger relationships with stakeholders involved in programs
Champion the JAN brand and ensure program communications, events, and partnerships align with the overall brand strategy
Provide clarity to direct reports and team members; ensure quality in carrying out /directing work efforts
Deputise for the Executive Director as and when required


JOB TITLE JOB OBJECTIVE(S) Director of Programs

To ensure successful implementation JAN programs in a sustainable manner and with demonstrable social impact.
Reporting Relationship Experiences To:

Executive Director
Programs Committee of the JAN Board


Supervises:

Programs Coordinator and Managers
Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university
Professional certification in Project Management (such as PMP or Prince 2) or a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, International Relations, or Public Administration, will be an added advantage
Experience working in or volunteering for a non-profit organization
Minimum of 2 years of management experience within a company or an NGO
Experience in full lifecycle of project management – initiation, planning, execution and closure


RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop a revised program strategy for JAN and update current portfolio of programs based on review of existing programs
Implement an annual appraisal process for JAN programs by the end of Q2 2016
Design and implement an impact reporting framework for JAN programs by the end of Q2 2016
Implement new content in JAN programs incorporating Ethics and Environmental issues in Q3 2016
Develop and maintain JAN Online Club for top JAN students and create new online programs for them by end of Q3 2016
Implement two new channels for delivery of JAN programs, leveraging ICT
Expand reach within and outside Lagos to reach 100,000 new students in 2016 and 2017 (total of 200,000 new students)
Achieve 25% growth and 80% retention in volunteers in 2016 and 2017
