Don't get it twisted, I'm not looking for wack rappers with nice voices. Just trying to paint a vivid pix of what a good voice (sometimes) could do for vocal delivery sorta like an r 'n b singer. Well my picks. Method Man (without a doubt) Jadakiss (raspy and lyrically classy) Redman (over-the-top) Young Jeezy (lyrically not on dat level, but his voice makes you wanna listen to him) Mobb Deep: Havoc and Prodigy (tightest duo ever. I can easily pick a better rapper in as group not this one) Ja Rule 50 (beyond all the hype) an NY cat with a southern accent got me on " Get Rich and Die Trying" |

Wat you like about Jigga's voice, sounds kinda shrill to me. Same with Nas. Just imagine if Nas or Jigga had a voice like Jada or Havoc! |

toluwalomo:Jigga's voice is unique and it's not forced and made too deep to emphasize his 'gangstaness" lol, I can tell his voice from miles away. Nas on the other hand, sounds like anybody else. Sometimes, I mistake him for The Game except their different uses of vocabulary. Females? Umm, I would say Lil' Kim since she's the only female voice I recognize anyway. |

@ chigo Nas on the other hand, sounds like anybody else. Sometimes, I mistake him for The Game except their different uses of vocabulary. Really? As per the females, Rah Digga formerly of Flip Mode is kinda ill. |
Re: The Best Voices In Rap by Bamsyle(m): 11:45am On May 26, 2009 |
Numero uno's gotta be Dr Dre . . . that ominous voice . . . he shoulda played Satan in Em's "Guilty Conscience" . . . and his voice was an 'evil omen' in "Bad Guys Always Die" (also with Em) - that song shoulda been a horror movie soundtrack . . . I put it on "repeat" anytime I listen to it . . . Biggie - the phat voice . . . laced with aura, command . . . and lots of R-E-S-P-E-C-T . . . you can dance to his voice, flows and rhymes . . . a cappella. Scarface - has a voice akin to that of a deity . . . his voice sounds like the rumblings of an earthquake . . . this voice would scare the sh*t out of kids . . . Redman - his voice strikes you like a million and one volcanoes . . . he forewarns you but hits you before you're forearmed. Rakim - his voice reeks of power and influence . . . there's an undertone in his rap that says "I don't compete, I always win!" Ice Cube - no kiddin' . . . he works the mic with a voice that can reduce glass to splinters . . . sounds like 'em old school prophets preachin' with righteous indignation . . . KRS One - boom bap! . . . hold the speakers please, they're 'bout to fall! . . . has a voice that says "don't eff with me" Chuck D - It'll take a nation of millions to hold this voice back. Jadakiss - got a voice like he was born to rap. Craig Mack - always sounds like he wanna sink a ship . . . DMX - This dude's name appears here courtesy of just one song . . . "Slippin'". The Game - "We are not the same, I am a Martian" . . . dude sure has a fearless and daunting voice . . . Xzibit - Coarse, gritty and aggressive . . . that's his spelling of Rap. Ludacris - rock-solid voice . . . sounds like a million rocks being hurled at a mountain . . . Obie Trice - serves rap with that in-yo'-face kinda voice. MC Lyte - husky and authoritative . . . leads the female pack for me . . . Lauryn Hill . . . another authoritative but sweet voice . . . a dictator with a mellifluous voice . . . she'll tell you to go to hell . . . and you'll sure enjoy the trip. Last word: I'll prescribe the first 3 voices to any aspiring rapper anyday . . . if you can, please mimic them. |
Re: The Best Voices In Rap by Bamsyle(m): 7:26pm On May 26, 2009 |
Haha . . . been listening to "Bad Guys Always Die" all day . . . |
Re: The Best Voices In Rap by Sauron1: 9:09pm On May 26, 2009 |
Bamsyle: and Eminem ripped that song. . . . . "What's The Difference?", "Forgot About Dre" and "Encore" are the best Dre-Eminem combo i have listened to. |
Re: The Best Voices In Rap by Bamsyle(m): 11:36am On May 27, 2009 |
~Sauron~: The way you go on 'bout Em . . . The chemistry is extraterrestrial . . . it's like the synergy between Satan and a demon . . . . . . better than a Dre-Snoop combo if you ask me . . . "Encore" was off the hinges . . . "Guilty Conscience" gotta be on that list . . . and are you forgetting "Say What You Say"?? |
Re: The Best Voices In Rap by Sauron1: 4:16pm On May 27, 2009 |
Bamsyle: What i like about "Encore" was the smooth 'baton-change'. Dre picks up a line and Eminem finishes it using the same rhymes Dre had deployed. [Dr. Dre] And plenty honey's involved, the sunny Sunday's and palm trees Cali, everyday it's just another party from the valley's All the way to them 8 Mile alleys, let's rally [Eminem] Hands up for the grand finale Now raise up out your seat, Dre is about to speak Blaze a pound of weed six days up out the week. |
Re: The Best Voices In Rap by Bamsyle(m): 7:18pm On May 27, 2009 |
~Sauron~: Same sentiments here . . . it was like a well coordinated relay race . . . {Dr Dre} The buzz is tremendous, we drop you all to sense it I don't gotta promote it for you to know that doc is off the benches {Eminem} We keep the party rockin' off the henges We ain't showin' off, we just goin' off popular consensus |
Re: The Best Voices In Rap by Sauron1: 7:27pm On May 28, 2009 |
[Dr Dre] That's why we always save the best cut last To make you scratch and itch for it like fresh cut grass [Eminem] Cuz we done swam with the sharks, wrestle with alligators Spoke to a generation of angry teenagers Whom if it wasn't for rap to bridge the gap Maybe raised to be racist Who may have never got to see our faces Grace the cover of Rolling Stone pages Broke down barriers of language and races |

Re: The Best Voices In Rap by eldee(m): 11:53pm On May 29, 2009 |
How can anyone say Nas doesn't have the best voice in rap?? Come on!!! One mic . . . our emotions rose and dipped with this same voice Best thing bout Nas, he doesn't sing like Pac, the rest, no voice stresses, no voice to blow up your speaker, infact, he talks the same way he raps . . . |
Re: The Best Voices In Rap by TOYOSI20(f): 4:12am On May 30, 2009 |
