DBanj has announced the winners of his ‘The King Is Here’ rap competition today, November 5, 2015. The competition, which kicked off on August 1, 2015 has finally come to a close after an estimated 8,000 entries were registered in the course.

Last month, D’Banj short-listed 5 finalists – @aonethalyricist, @Ola_dips, @officialbils, @itme_itse and @tushkido on his social media pages in what he described as a very hectic challenge. The singer also announced that he would let the fans decide the eventual winner as he opened voting on his Instagram page. He said the participant with the most likes on his page would eventually be crowned as the winner of the contest.

D’Banj explained that rather than choosing one winner which he originally planned, he decided to pick three. The top 3 finalists – @itsme_itse, @ola_dips and @officialbils will each go home with a Lenovo A5000 phone courtesy of Slot Nigeria, while the contestant with the most likes, female rapper, @itme_itse will also get $1000 dollars as a personal gift from the D’banj for being an “Extraordinary woman”. All three finalists will feature in the video for “The King Is Here Remix”.
