I stopped being a fan of Facebook ever since it introduced algorithms for it's news feed. For some strange reasons, not all your fans who liked your page get to see your updates. The same goes for your Facebook status. For a while now, i don't get to see my friends updates. instead, i see news feed from certain blogs which i follow by liking on commenting on their updates.

What happens is that Facebook gets feedback from all your activities on the social network which tells them you prefer getting updates from a certain user or fan page. Therefore they refrain from showing you updates from certain friends or pages you have less interaction with.

Twitter on it's own part does not have any algorithms as regards displaying tweets on your followers news feed. This means all your followers see your tweets as long as they were online when you posted your tweet or their timeline has not updated with more recent tweets from other people you are following.

This is why i prefer Twitter to Facebook. Everyone sees your tweets so long they are online at the time you posted it.
