With the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile coming to a close in the early hours of Monday, Nigerian players dominated the individual awards. Golden Eaglets defeated Mali in a 2-0 encounter to retain the World youth championship title.

The Golden Eaglets' captain Kelechi, Nwakali, won the golden ball award for the Most Valuable Player of the tournament, as well as the Bronze Boot for the third highest goal scorer.

Victor Osimhen, Nigeria's striker won the Golden Boot award for the highest goal scorer, having scored 10 goals, the highest in the history of the tournament. Osihmen also went home with the Silver Ball award for the second Most Valuable player.
