China based Multi-Millionaire and owner of two of Shanghai's best known private art museums, Liu Yiqian had bid and won a nude woman's art work for a whopping $170.4m (nearly 1000 Crore). The art work is an Amedeo Modigliani nude and the auction was carried out in New York on Monday.

There were half a dozen bidders for the art work who carried out most of the bidding on phone. But it finally went to Liu. He and his wife, Wang Wei are famous across the globe for having assembled one of China's most valuable private art collections.

Liu is one of China's rags-to-riches billionaires who left school as a teenager to sell handbags and worked as a Shanghai taxi driver.

The couple are ambitious to surround themselves with the finest things in life, from traditional Chinese furniture to modern artworks from China and abroad.
