Barcelona player Xavi Hernandez has revealed the first time he trained with Van Gaal, he thought he was an idiot.

In his first stint with Barcelona, Van Gaal won two league titles, one copa del rey and one uefa super cup.

And even though, Xavi had a negative view of the dutch manager, he has now praised the United boss.

“After two days of training under him, I thought, ‘Who is this idiot?’” he told ESPN.

“After one week, though, I thought, ‘He’s right.’ He’ll always be in my heart, Louis van Gaal.
