Wow***seems like ARSENAL(roy harper) will reprise his role on an upcoming episode of Arrow. In season 3, Roy faked his death after claiming publicly to be the Arrow, freeing Oliver of the charges against him. He then went on to start a new life, though he left behind his Arsenal costume for Thea, who used it to become Speedy. i‘ve always liked roy, cant wait,he‘s got this awesome way of fighting i love,,, Now the problem at hand, Arrow airs wednesday,8:00pm,,

On ‘The Flash’ Grodd’s portrayal on The Flash differs from his portrayal in the comics, in which he is a super villain. On The Flash, while he is an antagonist, he is more portrayed as a victim of Harrison Wells/ Eobard Thawne. He is lonely and sad because there are no others of his kind in the world, while in the comics, Grodd comes from a city of gorillas like him. However, considering Grodd’s expression at the end of the episode, it seems like Gorilla City is in for a rude awakening with Grodd’s arrival. It would not be surprising if Grodd becomes more like his comic book counterpart once he enters the city and finds others like him. Might Grodd become a Big Bad in a later season of The Flash or Legends of Tomorrow?

The CW sets 2016 premiere dates for ‘The 100’, ‘Legends of Tomorrow’, ‘The Originals’ and ‘The Vampire Diaries’

.The CW’s brilliant sci-fi dramaThe 100will make its triumphant return in January 2016, set to followLegends of Tomorrow. It’s about damn time!
‘The 100’ returns Jan. 21, 2016
It has been a hell of a hiatus for fans of The CW’sThe 100, a sleeper hit which blew critics away during its much-celebrated sophomore season.
After disguising itself as your typical end-of-the-world teen angst fest,The 100turned out to be the best show you’re not watching— seriously, watch it, right now.
Fans were faced with an extended wait when the season 2 finale blew our mindsin early 2015, however, as The CW chose to skip the fall season and keepthe 100season 3 until 2016But, finally, our wait is at an end —The 100season 3 premieres Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016, at 9 p.m.
It’s hard to imagine season 3 could possibly topThe 100season 2, which ended on a literal bombshell (yup) that will change the show forever. But we have faith in showrunner Jason Rothenberg and his team, who have proven themselves more than capable of taking familiar TV tropes and turning them on their heads, shaking them, and tossing them out an airlock.
See you in January,The 100fans! Like last year, Hypable will be providing recapsand fun featuresto accompany the show!
‘Legends of Tomorrow’ premieres Jan. 21, 2016
The new member of the CW superhero family,Legends of Tomorrow, is set to debut on the same day asThe 100, but in the 8 p.m. time slot.
Along with the announcement came a new trailer! Check it out:
Legends of Tomorrowpulls Sara Lance (Caty Lotz) fromArrow, and introduces a new set of heroes: The cast includes Brandon Routh, Victor Garber, Arthur Darvill, and Ciara Renée.
‘The Originals’ and ‘The Vampire Diaries’ move to Fridays, returning Jan. 29, 2016
Meanwhile, Julie Plec’s vampire showsThe Vampire DiariesandThe Originalsare moving to Fridays, where they’ll air in consecutive time slots.
While this shouldn’t alarm any fans, this news fits in pretty well with the rumor that this is to beThe Vampire Diaries‘ last season.
Both shows will return on January 29, 2016, at 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. respectively.

Will it be right to assume that the A.I seen @ the end of season 2 in the white house was responsible for the nuclear Holocaust that wiped out most of humanity prior to the escape to the space station in the 100?

The A.I seemed to know tholoneus and specifically admitted to have brought him to reactivate the nuclear warhead for purposes unknown while in the bunker @ the edge of the island the other guy stumbled upon a recording of the pre-holoucast resident or is it prisoner of the bunker who was sobbing about having been coerced into triggering the nuclear fallout by "her" and "her" we can narrow down to to the A.I with a reasonable degree of confidence before he killed himself and this might mean that the A.I intends to wipe out the returnees and every other human survivor and I don't think reapers cool, but oh yes! The A.I is a computer program that manifests in the form of a very realistic hologram that you have to walk through to realize what it is and it seems it has exceeded it's programmers operational parameters and developed it's own logic which will seem to be the annihilation of humanity of the face of earth and it seems to have had great success in doing so but it did not factor the people in the space station in its initial calculations and now that their descendants are back it wants to complete it's original plan. Anyway sha that's my theory and if correct the returnees and the grounders are in for a hell of a time and will have to work with each other again to survive this great threat every though the returnees will never trust the grounders again and might abandon them to die especially as this is not a kind of war that they are equipped or prepared to fight after the grounders made a deal with the mountain men and abandoned the returnees especially when they needed them most making Clark and friends make a morally shattering decision to save their own no matter the cost even at the cost of the lives of children, innocents and beloved friends, the exact type of decision they rebelled against and condemned leaders like tholoneus for in the first place while on the space station.

If your brother likes acting like a grounder, please remind me never to pick a fight with him as grounders are the definition of tough and unyielding and they kill first and ask questions later.

I think it would have to be Murphy that saves tholoneus from the A.I or maybe the threat of killing Murphy will be the A.I's bargaining chip to make tholoneus rebuild the nuke

‘Arrow’ will not air a new episode tonightArrowwill not air a new episode tonight, Wednesday, November 25.
After last week’s episode featured the return of Andy Diggle,Arrowwill be taking a week off for Thanksgiving. Next week,Arrowwill be back with the second part of the two-partArrow/Flashcrossover that will set upDC’s Legends of Tomorrow. The following Wednesday, December 9, will be the mid-season finale.
The CW will instead airPlanes, Trains, and Automobilesat 8:00 p.m. ET on November 25.Last season, it wasn’t required that fans watch bothThe FlashandArrowto understand the stories being told since they were self-contained. However, this season itwillbe necessary for viewers to watchThe Flashseason 2, episode 8, “Legends of Today,” on Tuesday, December 1 andArrowseason 4, episode 8, “Legends of Yesterday,” on Wednesday, December 2 to get the full story being told.
The synopsis for theArrowmidseason finale, titled “Dark Waters,” reads:
“OLIVER TAKES ON HIVE — After the city is attacked again, Oliver (Stephen Amell) makes a bold move against HIVE. Malcolm (John Barrowman) checks in on Thea (Willa Holland) and leaves her with a warning. Things take a horrible turn when Damien Darhk (guest star Neal McDonough) retaliates in a brutal manner at Oliver’s mayoral holiday party. John Behring directed the episode written by Wendy Mericle & Ben Sokolowski (#409).”
According to EP Greg Berlanti, in the mid-season finale, “You’ll definitely get a cliffhanger about who it could end up being in that grave from the [flash-forward scene in the] season premiere.” Moreoever, Berlanti has a feeling “people are gonna be mad” at where the episode leaves the characters.
That does not seem out of the realm of possibility, as fans may remember that season 3’s mid-season finale featured a shocker of its own: the apparent death of Oliver Queen at the hands of Ra’s al Ghul.
Arrowseason 4, episode 8, “Legends of Yesterday,” airs Wednesday, December 2 at 8:00 p.m. ET on The CW..

Well,i guess ill have to cry for another week till a new episode...

‘Arrow’ casts DC Comics villain The Calculator
.Arrowseason 4 has cast Tom Amandes as a DC Comics villain whose appearance will tie into Roy’s return.
Amandes, who has worked with Greg Berlanti before, will play Noah Kuttler, aka The Calculator, who is described as “a criminal mastermind and technical genius.” TVLinereports that he will use “his advanced skills in computer science and internet manipulation to blackmail Roy (Colton Haynes) out of retirement to do his bidding, which leads to an epic battle with Team Arrow.”Amandes is expected to appear in two episodes, beginning inArrowseason 4, episode 12, “Unchained.” We previously reportedepisode 12 would be the episode Roy is returning for. However, this begs the question of whether Roy will be around for both of those episodes as well.
“We are beyond thrilled that Colton will be returning to Arrow this season,” said EP Marc Guggenheim. “It was always our intention to have him return following his departure last season, but it was a matter of finding the right story line to pull it off. That opportunity presented itself in episode 412 and we can’t wait for the fans to see this reunion.”In the DC Comics, Noah Kuttler/Calculator is an information broker for super villains. He initially started fighting superheroes around the country, getting beaten up but cataloging the techniques so he’d never be defeated again. After escaping from prison, he came an information broker in the underworld.
Amandes’ credits have includedChicago Fire,Revenge,ParenthoodandScandal

‘Supergirl’ is casting Superman (well, sort of)
.Supergirlis casting a young Kal-El for a future episode.
While Superman has appeared onSupergirlin the first five episodes, his appearances have been limited to specific shots and angles that keep viewers from getting a good glimpse of him. He arrived to save Kara from Reactron, but by the time Kara regained consciousness, he’d already left. We saw the most of his personality in an instant messaging exchange with Kara — complete with emoticon! But nowSupergirlis casting a 13-year-old actor with “future leading man looks,” TVLinereports. The role of the young Kal-El has the potential to be recurring, as the show explores the relationship between the Kryptonian cousins in flashbacks.
This is interesting, however, as Kara would have been in the Phantom Zone while Kal-El/Clark was in his teenage years. He’d already become Superman by the time the teenage Kara arrived on Earth. We’ll be curious to see how it works out. Might someone be telling Kara about Clark as a teenager to give her some insight into her cousin? This would also be a chance to introduce the Kents, Clark’s adoptive family, which would draw obvious parallels to the Danvers, who raised Kara once she arrived on Earth.
Young Superman is first expected to appear inSupergirlseason 1, episode 13, which will air in 2016.
Supergirlairs Mondays at 8:00 p.m. ET on CBS.

“As Julian (guest star Todd Lasance) and Lily (guest star Annie Wersching) throw a party to celebrate Mary Louise (guest star Teressa Liane) and Nora’s (guest star Scarlett Byrne) anniversary, Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) set in motion a risky plan to eliminate a new threat posed by Julian. Meanwhile, following a major revelation uncovered by Valerie (guest star Elizabeth Blackmore), Caroline (Candice King) is forced to face her new reality, even as it threatens to destroy her relationship with Stefan. Finally, determined to do what’s best for her family, Lily makes the most difficult decision of her life.” With the winter break coming soon, though, we can’t help but wonder which plot line will be tied up by the new year and which will be the one to continue forward until the spring. Will Julian finally be killed by one of the Salvatore brothers? We find that’s our most likely scenario, while wrapping up Caroline’s pregnancy seems way too quick a move for executive producer Julie Plec and company. With all the drama left to unfold we asked earlier if you think The Vampire Diaries will be renewed or cancelled, and we still don’t have a clear idea about that just yet! Perhaps by the time the show goes on its winter break we’ll finally find out.

Supergirlseason 1, episode 6, “Red Faced,” aired tonight. Read our recap and discuss the episode with fellow fans.
Supergirlseason 1, episode 6, “Red Faced,” looked at various sources of anger for the characters. Notably, it also addressed the fact that women and black men in particular are discouraged from expressing this normal emotion.
Parental anger
So much of the venom Cat spews clearly stems from her relationship with her mother, who we meet in this episode. Cat’s mother goes out of her way to belittle Cat’s success, but it’s not until she belittles Kara that Cat snaps at her. It’s obvious Cat gets her drive for success from her mother, but she hasn’t inherited her mother’s parenting style, as Cat’s attitude toward her son — and even Kara — is much healthier than her mother’s attitude toward her.
General Sam Lane, meanwhile, is in town for some military work, but he takes time to have dinner with daughter Lucy and her boyfriend James — during which he informs James that he’s not good enough for Lucy. James, he believes, associates with greatness in Superman and Supergirl, but he himself is not great. This is the exact fear that James expressed to Kara earlier this season.
Lucy, for her part, mostly supports her father, for whom she also works — until Supergirl saves her life, that is. She realizes her father is being unreasonable, and she even quits her job to be with James. Lucy goes through a subtle arc from putting Supergirl down (unknowingly while in the same room as Supergirl) to seeing her as an ally and hero. This seems to help her take control of the rest of her life as well, despite it putting her at odds with her father.
Meanwhile, Kara and Alex’s search for the truth behind Jeremiah’s death begins as they convince Winn to hack into the DEO. He finds some heavily redacted files that piece together a narrative: Jeremiah and another agent went to South America to confront a hostile alien, but something went wrong. Both agents disappeared, but a month later the other agent resurfaced, apparently with no memory of the events. That agent was Hank Henshaw. This is obviously an issue for Alex, who has been working for the DEO and trusting Hank implicitly. He’s been a mentor to her, and she feels betrayed.
Romantic jealousy
While James and Lucy show off how well they know one another at game night, Kara’s feelings of jealousy and inadequacy get more tangled. It doesn’t help when Cat calls her out for “throwing herself” at James, saying the entire office knows. Kara eventually tells James that seeing him and Lucy together makes her feel like she’ll never have what they have.
And while that’s true, it’s obvious to everyone but James that she wants the close dynamic James and Lucy share with, well, James. Kara recognizes she’s never going to have a normal life, and one of the only people who can truly understand Kara’s struggles is James, considering his experience with Superman.
However, to the show’s credit, while Kara does feel this jealousy, it’s not what drives her. Her anger and pain are much deeper, and her jealousy at James and Lucy’s relationship is a symptom of the larger issue.
Revenge
After Supergirl defeats Red Tornado, General Lane fires Dr. T.O. Morrow, the scientist who created the android. Morrow, however, goes on a quest for revenge by continually targeting Sam Lane with Red Tornado. Though Alex eventually kills him in order to stop his telepathic connection to Red Tornado, we see that sense of rage in him at being discarded after years of dedication to his work.
Red Tornado becomes sentient and Kara has to dig deep to defeat him. She eventually blows him up, but we hope this won’t be the last we see of Red Tornado. In the DC Comics, Red Tornado and T.O. Morrow are characters with long histories (Morrow first appeared in 1964; Red Tornado in 1968). While Morrow is a super villain, Red Tornado is actually a superhero and member of the Justice League. He’s also trained members of Young Justice. He would be a strong ally for Kara down the line.
Addressing the deeper anger
After an alcohol-induced heart-to-heart with Cat Grant, Kara realizes there is more to the anger she has been feeling with everything going on in her life. She channels her rage and pain at the destruction of Krypton and the loss of her family to defeat Red Tornado.
Though Kara has created a family for herself on Earth with the Danvers, Winn, James, and even Cat, they can’t replace the House of El. All she has left of her mother is a holographic message and an AI programmed to look and sound like her. That pain has likely been simmering under the surface since Astra’s emergence.Though Kara has loved ones, there are some things that she is going to miss out on without her actual family around her, and that’s the underlying issue Kara realizes she has to face.
But the episode does not end on a hopeless note. Kara learns how to channel her anger. Recognizing its source gives her power over the emotion. And, as we see in this episode, there are numerous potential sources of anger for us all.

#ClarkeTheHusband: How a ‘The 100’ fanfic accidentally went viral
This is a real fish bites dog story..

.Something really amusing happened inThe 100fan community this week. It involves Clarke, Lexa, a dog named Fish and — gasp — the world outside of fandom.
You may have seen the amazing text conversations floating around on social media, in which a wife named Lexa tells her husband Clarke about the new dog she’s bringing home:
Clarke the husband isn’t happy, see, because Lexa was meant to bring home afish. Instead, amusingly, Lexa brings home a dog she named Fish. Oh, married couples and their shenanigans!
These texts went viral both on Twitter and Facebook; this Facebook posthttps://www.facebook.com/djsamyirssak/photos/pb.205285549615939.-2207520000.1448912757./818201378324350/?type=3&theater

.has more than 650,000 shares, with people going crazy debating the issue and declaring their loyalty to either #ClarketheHusband or #LexatheWife.
And today, British newspaper The Daily Starjumped on the hype train, publishing the text conversation on their website.
“Mum goes out to buy kids pet fish — but dad couldn’t believe what she came home with,” the headline of the article reads. There’s also a poll, where readers are asked to side with either the husband or the wife.
Only problem? This happens to be a made-up conversation created by aThe 100fan, imagining a happier, non-apocalypsey AU in which Clarke and Lexaarehusbandwife and wife.
The Fish the Dog conversations were first posted to the Tumblr account ClarkeGiffinTexts, and Clexa fans quickly bought into the idea of Clarke and Lexa forming a happy little family.
It’s absolutely hilarious to see how non-fandom has responded to this fictional argument, and how people have even taken sides — but the fact that Clarke was immediately assumed to be a male does say a lot about our heteronormative society, doesn’t it?!
Despite this somewhat depressing factor,The 100fans are having a blast with this, and are fully embracing the ridiculousness of #ClarketheHusband. We’ve never been more in love with this fandom:

‘Gotham’ season 2 mid-season finale recap: The misfit gang

Gothamseason 2, episode 11, “Worse than a Crime,” just finished airing. Read our recap and find out what happened when Gordon and Penguin teamed up!
Bruce is in big trouble and all of his usual saviors are out of commission whenGothamseason 2, episode 11, “Worse than a Crime,” begins. After being beaten by Galavan and his men, Gordon wakes up confused to see Penguin and Nygma singing by the piano. Penguin rescued Gordon for Galavan’s men and brought him to Nygma’s apartment where he’s been in hiding. It looks like Gordon and Penguin are back to being friendly again, for now, and are willing to work together to bring Galavan down.
Meanwhile, Alfred finds himself at the waste dump after hitching a ride in one of their trucks. Unfortunately, Tabitha has followed him, so he has to hide in an old refrigerator. Too bad it also gets a bunch of trash dumped on top of it as well. Tabitha eventually gives up and leaves, which gives Alfred a chance to escape, but he ends up tasered by a police officer when she sees him trying to steal a car.
Lucius Fox comes out of the cave at Wayne Manor and quickly realizes something isn’t right. No one is there and the furniture is out of place, so he heads down to the police department to file a missing persons report only to find that Barnes is resistant. Luckily, it turns out they have Alfred in custody.
After telling them what happened, Alfred, Lucius, and Bullock all think Galavan is behind Bruce’s disappearance, but Barnes doesn’t want to go for a warrant without proof. As they wish they knew where Gordon was, they hear Nygma laughing and ask if he knows. Nygma panics and answers in a riddle that Lucius figures out means “home,” and deduces that Gordon is hiding at Nygma’s place. When Lucius, Alfred, and Bullock go to find Gordon, he’s about to leave town with Leslie who has told him that she’s pregnant. Once Gordon finds out that Galavan has Bruce, he knows he can’t leave, so he agrees to help them but first they need to figure out how to get in. That’s when Selina pops by and joins their growing gang, saying she knows how to get into Galavan’s building.Selina delivers and gets them into the building where they arrive just in time to stop Father Creel from sacrificing Bruce. Gordon, Bullock, and Alfred get into a shootout with Father Creel and the monks while Lucius heads to the GCPD for backup. Galavan, Tabitha, and Silver escape from the group and go to leave, but first Galavan wants to kill Silver for disobeying him. Tabitha is having none of that and knocks him out, then uses the only two parachute packs to save herself and Silver.
Gordon goes to arrest Galavan but is disturbed by how calm he is, and it’s clear that Galavan thinks he’s immune from actual jail time. He goes to kill Galavan, but Barnes arrives and tries to talk him down from it. Penguin decides to take matters into his own hands and knocks Barnes out, and some sense into Gordon. Together, Penguin and Gordon drive Galavan down to the docks where they kill him.
It’s clear from here on out Gordon will be a changed man. He’s always walked that line of what’s right and what’s wrong and now he’s seemed to gone over the edge. This isn’t the first time he’s killed in the name of Penguin, but this time it was for the greater good.
Now that he sees sometimes you have to do something bad to make things better, how will it affect his career as a detective? Will he be more willing to work with Penguin in the future or will Gordon try to go back to the way things were before?
Do you think Gordon made the right decision on ‘Gotham’?

‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ 3×09 recap: The second side of darkness

Coulson and Ward’s paths collided with deadly — and ongoing — consequences onAgents of S.H.I.E.L.D.3×09, “Closure.”
Opening moves
“Closure” opens with… well, the opposite of closure, at least for most of the people involved. Ward assassinates Rosalind as she and Coulson enjoy a candlelit dinner, calls Coulson to gloat, and then leaves him to die at the hands of his goons.
We’ll miss you, Rosalind Price.
For Ward, this is an act of revenge for Kara’s death (#closure) — even though, crucially, neither Coulson nor Rosalind had anything to do with Kara’s death.
That disconnect between Ward’s fiction and the story’s reality is a psychological chasm Coulson tries desperately to span over the course of the episode. The Director goes dark, or at least tries to, but it’s clearly unfamiliar territory for himThat’s not to say Coulson has been bathed in the light of morality, either before or after the events ofAgents of S.H.I.E.L.D.3×09, but deliberate, reactionary line-crossing is just not his forte. Coulson alienates allies like Mack and Bobbi, he has no contingency plans, and his failure to cover his bases allows Fitz and Simmons to be kidnapped.
And even his darkest move — kidnapping Thomas Ward — is speckled with indecision. All of the violence enacted on Thomas is staged, and when Bobbi lets Thomas go, neither she nor Thomas are sure if Coulson would really have hurt his prisoner.
It’s not at all clear if Coulson knows the answer either.
Truth or die
Meanwhile, Ward remains rather less of a mystery. “Closure” demonstrates just how dedicated he is to his own fictions. From recruiting Fitz as a surrogate brother, to insisting that his hands are clean while Simmons is tortured, Ward is trying to reshape the world in his own image.
Ward’s conversation with Thomas is particularly illuminating in this respect. Far from the compassionate corroborator of his brother’s stories, Thomas rejects Ward’s deadly choices. Ward’s justifications make no impact on Thomas, who, even more than his brother, has clearly lived his life in the shadow of violence.
When Ward is unable to assert his worldview on Thomas, he, like Malick, turns to a grander purpose. If he cannot remake the ideological world of the people around him, Ward agrees to Malick’s plan and decides to force a physical change on the entire planet by leading the journey to Maveth.
The strong ones
So while Coulson flies through the portal on a rush of rage (and, perhaps appropriately, is promptly knocked unconscious) and Ward jumps in with earth-shattering plans, Fitz’s goals are much smaller.
His, in fact, are the only good intentions here — unfortunately, these may turn out to be the most destructive.
Simmons, ever the scientist, is willing to concede defeat in Project Rescue Will in order to thwart Hydra. (She also taps into herphenomenalstorage of fortitude and doesn’t give a bloody inch under prolonged torture. Because that’s just who Simmons is.)
But Fitz, ever the idealist, remains determined — and grows even more so when Simmons is tortured for information on how she returned through the portal. He is an idealist, but also heartbreakingly pragmatic. In a deeply sad confession, he admits that Simmons — the woman who has inspired Fitz’s strongest moments — is also his greatest weakness.
“I’m not strong enough to live in a world that doesn’t have you in it,” he tells her.
As everyone in the world weeps, Fitz promises Simmons he will not bring “that thing” back with him — only Will. And if that’s not an uncomfortable piece of dialogical juxtaposition, we don’t know what is.
An all-out stand
Speaking of decisions that may end in disaster, Coulson appoints the long-suffering Mack Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. in his absence. That’s not the bad decision — in fact, Mack is far and away the most level-headed person on the show right about now.
If he’s our next General Washington, we’ll take him and say thank you.
Unfortunately, Coulson’s increasing recklessness puts Mack in the unenviable position of having to preemptively rescue the rescue mission. With S.H.I.E.L.D. “outmanned and outgunned,” Mack is forced to turn to his least reliable assets.
Thus are the last-ditch Secret Warriors born, under a storm of desperation and clouds of distrust. Joey Gutierrez is completely untested in the field, and Lincoln comes with more warning labels than a bed made of razorblades — though we still have no idea whether to trust Andrew’s anxieties.
And so, dangerous, desperate, grieving and utterly unprepared, the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. converge on battle across worlds. Their enemies are overwhelming, the powers against them unimaginable. Still, they come.Once more unto the breach, dear friends. Once more.
Did you feel any closure from the events of ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ 3×09?

‘The Flash’ 2×08 recap: Superhero reunion

The Flashseason 2, episode 8, “Legends of Today,” aired tonight. Read our recap and discuss the episode with fellow fans.
This episode was the first of a two-part crossover event withArrowthat sets upDC’s Legends of Tomorrow. According to EP Greg Berlanti, the goal of this episode ofThe Flashwas to give it more of anArrowfeel — while doing the opposite for tomorrow’s episode ofArrow.
Superhero team-up
Teams Arrow and Flash met up this week as Barry and Cisco bring Cisco’s beautiful friend who kisses him, Kendra, to Star City to protect her from immortal crazy man Vandal Savage. He thinks she’s some sort of Egyptian priestess. Turns out, he’s right.
Her soulmate, Carter Hall, swoops in — literally, he has wings — and fills in the gaps: He and Kendra are reincarnated Egyptian royalty who Vandal Savage killed and continues to kill each time they are reincarnated because their lives are tethered to his life force. Killing them makes him stronger each time. Being an immortal, though, Vandal Savage is more than a little difficult to defeat, though, and Barry decides they’ve ended in a tie for this episode.
It’s always a pleasure to see members of Teams Arrow and Flash together. They play off each other so well, and this episode brought more characters into the fold, including Thea, who didn’t know they knew The Flash. Cisco, as always, is a highlight; he has wonderful chemistry with everyone and drops some great one-liners, though Barry has his share as well.
Vandal Savage
What Teams Arrow and Flash are unaware of when they meet Vandal Savage is that they’re not going to defeat him in this two-parter since he has to go on to be the villain forLegends of Tomorrow. What’s interesting about this incarnation of Vandal Savage is that he is being conflated with a different character from the Hawkgirl and Hawkman mythos: the Egyptian priest Hath-Set.In the DC Comics, Hath-Set is the rival of Prince Khufu. He leads a rebellion and kills Prince Khufu (now Carter Hall) and Princess Chay-Ara (now Kendra Saunders). He kills them with a cursed dagger forged from the alien Nth metal — likely the metal fragment Barry found during his crime scene investigation — and this triggered a cycle of all three being reincarnated together. In each life, he seeks out and murders the prince and princess. Perhaps Vandal took on the identity of Hath-Set in ancient Egypt?
Either way, he’s a pretty serious threat. He’s incredibly strong, smart and driven. He adapts quickly to the skill sets of the Green Arrow and Flash. However, he notes that he’s never come across individuals with abilities like the two of them. Does that mean metahumans are a new phenomenon? That seems unlikely since the particle accelerator didn’t create all of them.
Harrison, Jay and… Patty?
The side plot of this episode features Wells and Caitlin working together to create a serum that will help Barry temporarily run faster. They hope it will help him defeat Zoom. When they complete the serum, Wells wants to test it on Jay, but Jay — who has been MIA for far too long — is having none of it.
But when Patty spies Wells, follows him to S.T.A.R. Labs and shoots him, Jay uses the serum to phase through Wells’ chest to remove the bullet. When Wells comes to, he thanks Jay. Jay, in turn, asks Wells to keep the serum away from Barry. (We’re guessing that’s not going to happen.)
This incident will clearly lead to questions from Patty. How is Wells still alive? Why are the S.T.A.R. Labs crew harboring him? What exactly is Joe keeping from her? How does Barry fit into this picture? She’s a good detective, and there’s no way she’s going to take this incident lying down. This will undoubtedly be a turning point for her relationship with Barry. What will he tell her, and how will she react if she learns the truth?
Watch a promo for the next part of the crossover

‘Arrow’ 4×08 recap: Second chances

Arrowseason 4, episode 8, “Legends of Yesterday,” aired tonight. Read our recap and discuss the episode with fellow fans.
“Legends of Yesterday” was the second of a two-part crossover withThe Flashthat set upDC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
Fighting Savage round 1
While the team goes into hiding to keep Savage from tracking them down, Oliver tracks down his ex, Samantha, and her son, William, after seeing them at Jitters. He asks whether William is his. When she denies it, Oliver has Barry run a DNA test that confirms he is, in fact, William’s father. Oliver asks to have a relationship with his son, but Samantha only agrees if Oliver doesn’t tell anyone else. She doesn’t want William getting pulled into his sphere of crazy. It’s kind of hard to blame her; she only knows a portion of the craziness that is his life, after all.
Felicity, though, convinces Barry to give her the DNA test results, and she confronts Oliver with them when he doesn’t come clean about the situation. She’s not mad that he has a child; she’s mad he lied to her about it. She tells him that if he trusted her, it would not feel like a burden to tell her the truth — it would be a relief. The two seem to break up.
The team goes up against Savage, pretending to give up Kendra and Carter but planning to steal the Staff of Horus and use it against him. However, Oliver is distracted due to finding out he has a son and Kendra is unable to access her powers as Hawkgirl. The first encounter ends with the deaths of everyone as Barry flees (Oliver echoes the “Run, Barry, run” catchphrase to convince him to flee). Barry ends up traveling into the past.
This echoes Barry’s first travel through time, as that also saved the life of a friend who was killed in the original timeline, but we’re now introducing time travel and its potential effects onArrow. WhileArrowandThe Flashare in the same universe, we didn’t necessarily see the effects from Barry’s season 1 time travel onArrow.
Fighting Savage round 2
After going through the meeting with Savage a second time, Barry fills Oliver in on the fact that they failed trying to take down Savage. He tells him about his child and his apparent breakup with Felicity. Oliver decides they need to take this second chance to fix what went wrong.
Barry is hesitant to tell the truth about what happened in the previous timeline because he’s had experience with messing with time before. However, the outcome of the previous timeline is pretty awful, so he takes the chance. We have a feeling this won’t be the last we hear of the effects of this time travel, though.
Oliver has Cisco talk to Kendra and he’s able to coax her memories out of her. She remembers her first death, and this gives the team insight into defeating Savage: they need pieces of the meteorites that fell at the time of Khufu’s and Chay-ara’s deaths. With those pieces of metal and the rest of Team Arrow in play, the plan works and the team defeats Vandal Savage.
Unfortunately, we know this death won’t last since Savage will be the main villain onLegends of Tomorrow. This episode also gives us more insight into why time travel is going to be heavily featured inLegends. Savage is apparently impossible to beat on the first try. Hell, Hawkman and Hawkgirl didn’t get a win until try 207.
Odds and ends
Kendra and Carter decide to go off and help people, as they have in their previous lives. However, Kendra and Cisco have a lovely farewell, and he gives her a GPS that will connect them if needed.
Barry encourages Oliver to be a part of William’s life. He knows what it’s like to grow up without a father. The two hug, and Oliver goes to see Samantha and William. He agrees to Samantha’s terms and starts a relationship with William. He asks if he could come by sometimes to see him. William’s love of the Flash is adorable.
When they return to Star City, Felicity wants to know what’s going on with Oliver. Oliver doesn’t tell her, however, which is something Barry believes will cause issues with the timeline.
Malcolm collects Vandal Savage’s ashes so Vandal can be the villain inLegends of Tomorrow. His evilness never ceases to amaze.
