Nigerian Universities Academic Competition - Nuac 2009 by dxsnipe(m): 10:24pm On May 23, 2009

The National Universities Academic Competition(NUAC) 2009 is a top level  academic competition designed to develop mentoring, creative and personal development of individual students while fostering strong team work ideals. Probably the most intellectually tasking competition in Nigeria, it is also the first of its kind to be held in Nigeria

Objectives

The competition was established to provide:
• A forum for interaction among students of various Nigerian Universities to foster National unity
• To serve as a breeding/discovery ground for future Nigerian academic stars.
• To reduce idle time in the hands of students
• To assist in developing the research culture and stimulate the once moribund progressive discourse on intellectual areas that affect our lives
• To identify and publicly honour , for the first time, outstandingly brilliant students.

Eligibility

Categories

There would be two unique categories to this competition.
1)  The academic rounds category
2) The Unique talent/ invention category

The academic rounds category

The team will consist of TWO final year students and TWO students in the immediate lower year.
The final year students are the LEADING team members who will participate in BOTH oral and written rounds would be assisted by 2 RESEARCH ASSISTANTS from the immediate lower year. This would make the team have a total of FOUR members.
During the oral rounds, separate seats would be available to research assistants and the leading team members. This makes the research assistants invaluable for data, research findings and help out of tight spot questions.
