Humans are always skeptical of new things. We often don’t know what it is, how it can help us and mostly importantly how to adapt to the inevitable changes that comes with the introduction of new technology. Social media, is one of those technology, though not new but most people are yet to know more importantly the impact it has on business growth. School is a competitive business, as such having a nice structure is no longer enough but growth comes by been sensitive to way our society continues to evolve. Prior to now, social media presence was considered a luxury but that ideology is changing fast as most of our daily activities are now online. Quickly i will show the opportunities your missing for not having social media presence.

1. Free Publicity

To sign up on most social media are free, it cost nothing, yet it exposes you to millions of people. Facebook one of the most popular has 1.5 billion people on it. The truth about any business remains that without exposure, every business risked death, how good the business is, not withstanding. Good products don’t always win, known products do. In Nigeria, more than 78 million people are online, a good portion of that figure are on social media, to attract students beyond your school beyond your physical location and to make your school stand out, having a social media presence is imperative.

2. Stay Relevant

The truth remains that no body like competition, but when you are in highly competitive business like school, you either know how to strive, or do nothing and watch your school collapse. To attend and remain relevant you must constantly know to reimagine your business in way that it will position you as leader. This carries risk but the cost of not taking this risk is greater than the risk itself, as such having an social media, positions your school as a technological driven business in the mind of people. In Nigeria where 78 million people are online, this gives your school the opportunity to connect to a wider audience that scale far beyond your physical location.

3. Credibility

The truth is, the best product don’t always win, people chooses mostly based on perception. That means having the best product is not simply enough to makes sales, but having the best product and packing it in a way, that it will be perceived highly by people is basically what will tilt the wave to your side. For a school to strive highly it needs to exhume quality and credibility, in highly competitive business like school, where parents now has many options to choose from, having a social media will distinguish your school from others, and this will will turn the tide to your side, when people are making choice on the right school to put their children.
