Ilaje Local Government was created out of the defunct Ilaje/Ese Odo Local Government in December 1996.Right from the inception of the Ilaje Local Government,education of it people has improved drastically as a result of this, there are many educational institutions.There are 100 public primary schools,20 public secondary schools,15 private primary and secondary schools and 1 vocational center.
