The U.S. Navy adopted the technology in 1962. And the U.S. military used it during a blockade of Cuba. The principles of her work nowserve as the basis for many modern technologies, including GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. She joined the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2014.
