This tracking of lost or stollen feature was added in the recent update by microsoft. This feature will enable you to track the whereabout of your computer should it get missing or when you've forgotten where you kept it.

click on Start menu and then choose Update & security, and then Find My Device.

-Click on Change to activate the feature; your laptop will then send its current location back to base on a regular activities, provided that it is connected to wifi and has enough battery juice left.

Note that you need to be signed in as an administrator to switch this feature on. Also do ensure that you signed in with your microsoft account.


To find your device

Simply go to to https://account.microsoft.com/devices on any computer and sign in using your
Microsoft account to find out where your laptop is situated, you know this tracking feature only works on laptops and tablets (and as yet there’s no option to ping or lock your computer remotely).

-Click Find my device to see the location of your laptop on a map.....
