Na wa oo. Everybody just dey shout PMB. It is an offence to bring in rice through the Land borders and most of these traders know that. It is unfortunate that it is the same custom officials that they bribed while smuggling in the rice that will still go ahead to hint their other commands on how to seize the contraband. I was at Ido terminus yesterday and the price of a bag has sky rocketed but nobody said their shops have been raided by customs as majority of their goods are cleared through Apapa port. The only thing that baffles me in the entire issue is the idea of raiding peoples' shops in the middle of the night like armed robbers. It is totally unacceptable. 3 Likes |

bettercreature: Why do you choose to be daft like this? Who told they did not pay for duty or the source of the rice they are selling? Why defending the indefensible? What stopped them from coming in the day? How did they know the imported and local rice since most are packaged same? This act of impunity must stop. 4 Likes |

there is the part of the law that requires a search warrant be presented to the owners of a place right before the search takes place. i hope these women would follow the provisions the law has given them to seek redress if they feel cheated. |

It only in nigeria that the citizens cry in silence, we cry only on Internet. We neva think of staging a great protest that will remove any bad government. Nigerians are still blind to know there right, I blame illiteracy. Most government loot money and we clap for them. When are we going to think straight, imagine Brazilians protesting over corruption when such is acceptable in nigeria, they give us stipend and watch us kill ourselves. to sum it up Nigeria is Africa largest economy don't be deceived south Africa standard of living is much more greater than ours. Think of many more countries and ask yourself a question. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

Same thing happened here in Badagry roundabout on friday morning..... The question is..."Why come in the middle of the night"?...... Secondly, if it's a genuine operation, why do they have to steal phones and money from the guys protecting the goods and shops??....... I pity this country's condition in the nearest future 3 Likes 1 Share |

Please let history repeat itself, we wont hide under the guise of "Democracy" to celebrate impunity and lawlessness. This should ray out a warning signal to smugglers and illegal business dealing... How did we allow this unruly attitude in our vein.WTF!!! |

biafransoul:and u are there when they paid and how can u assume they are innocent I believe they are not the only rice seller. if u are close to this borders u know smuggling and bribing are the order of the day, so if custom decide to change that everyone should cooperate by going about their businesses in a legitimate manner. |

Buhari has dissappointed me. Why rob traders (and collect their money too?) at night when you can arrest in the day or at the borders. This is not the way to go. And he can't claim he doesn't hear about this. Cos that ll be really dissappointing. 3 Likes |
