2015 Thanksgiving Thread by Nobody: 9:56am On Dec 12, 2015
It's the last month of the year and everyone can perceive that joyful season of Christmas and excitement about a new year. As the curtain of 2015 is gradually rolling away, it's important that we look back and ponder on the life we've lived in 2015, notice where we missed some steps and learn from our mistakes (if any).

However, it is important that we wind up the year with a note of thanksgiving. It doesn't only refresh your soul, it also energizes you to do and achieve more. On this note, I open the floor for our 2015 thanksgiving thread.

I'm thankful first and foremost for life. smiley There were instances where I would have been ran over by a car on top speed but I was kept safe. Thank you Jesus. I'm grateful for me,for what God has done through my life, for been able to be a blessing to others both emotionally, financially, spiritually and otherwise.

I'm grateful for ideas God has given me for businesses, even though I haven't been able to meet some target I set for myself, I'm grateful because I'm not just left at the mercy of the dwindling economy. I am making progress.

I'm grateful for my family. Words can't express how grateful I am. I simply have the best family around me. grin

I see friends as special gifts from God. Not just an acquaintance but a friend indeed. I'm grateful for all my friends outside nairaland. Mentioning their names will be unnecessary. We've been through a lot together this year alone but we came out strong. They were there to correct me at instances where I was about taking a wrong step. They are very few but they are awesome!

To my nairaland friends grin
I'm grateful for people like dearpreye whose posts at a time helped rekindle the entrepreneurial fire within me.
There's this friend I have here. We've quarreled and settled a few times. grin Lots of love for you Deejavuu. I appreciate our friendship. kisskiss

Then, there's this big head called Sleekyshuga. This one is a trouble maker. angry I appreciate your troubles tonguecheesy

Ronald4lif - Hmmmm his command of the Anglo lingua makes me doubt if I offered English language in secondary school. sad Most of his comments are inspiring and brilliant ((I don't agree with some comments he makes as per religion and marriage though. tongue) but he's ma nigga cool.

Kachisbarbie - There's a picture of her I have in my heart which was carved out by her comments on here. Girl is simply adorable.

BreezyRita Specialist900 HFOG LordReed elantraceey
What happened to our e-home? I miss everybody.

I could go on and on but I'll stop here so this post would be as 'brief' as possible. grin

Finally, I'm thankful for the new year. I'm eagerly waiting for it because I see it as another opportunity to get it right. I see 2016 as a plain slate given to me and I'm sure going to write good, inspiring words on it. It's an opportunity to right the wrongs of 2015

I've got a lot to thank God for, but most importantly, I thank him for answering my prayers. I could remember December 31, 2014, I was in my room praying, I asking for all I have now . How I wished I asked for more, cos he did bless me with all I asked for. I've learnt my lessons. (Alihamdulilahi)

I say a big thank you to everyone around me, both on and off nairaland.. thanks for being part of the boring me..

Awww, Mr. Charis thanks for the blandiloquence, it's an honour to be part of this one big amazing family on NL. I'm hoping as this year draws closer everyone of us must have attain the heights they envisaged when it commenced and that next year would be an even better year with loads of success.

Nairaland has been a great part of this year, very educative, inspiring and accommodating. I can't imagine how my year would have been humdrum without this forum, it's been refreshing. I'm looking forward to a better year with much accomplishment and my wish is for everyone to accomplish their heart desires.

Just like my stance on religion, I'm not against the sacred union of marriage and have an even stronger reservation against the idea or a world where the union would be non-existing. Just like everyone else, I do hope to get married someday and I'm looking forward to it. But I'm for a robust dialogue on why I think the institution is failing and not a 'must-do' like most people want us believe. I think in isolation and not what the bandwagon brigade subscribe to and we can always disagree to agree. Nuff said.

All thanks to you, Kinglekan, Naijaboiy, Deejavuu, TheSonOfMark, Kachisbarbie, Mzztega, Tosyne2much, DaretoDiffer, Wristbangle, Tohpahz, Sinizia, Ipledge10, STFUareyouGod, Softysparky etc etc who has made this year worthwhile. Merry Christmas and a happy new year in advance.

Often times, Nigeria is the binoculars through which i view my personal life. And didnt we have a miracle as Nigerians went through the aftermath of the breath-ceasing presidential elections without drama ?

The world literally held its breath, Africa stood on the edge of collapse. And somehow, through all the rumblings and lightenings it all ended with an unlikely calm. That was a rare moment Nigeria defiled her critics; we were simply unpredictable. Nigeria has got to celebrate 2015 officially and individually.

Personally, this year was a moment of realization : I watched life became. It was amazing, my eyes were hers and she mirrored my hopes and love. I stayed up all night on my feet while she made crazy dance of prelude from the warmth of her watery world into mine - the world of light. After seven hours of teasing hesitations, she decided to meet me. I christened her 'Dera and Esther. A flash of clairvoyance told me she'll be great.

I kissed the forehead of her usheress, she's mine too. Thank God it was perfect. In a tiny little suburb in Delta state, I, Leslie stood in anquish of anticipation for my country and for my future. One carries my hopes, the other my name. I was anxious for nothing; Buhari was ushered in like a prophet and 'Dera came like a dove.....well not quite, she had to give the cry of life.

Lucky me.

And i drew life's lessons in these two cardinal events of my life. Sometimes we slog, we toil for what we have hope to attain. But the best things in life are often free and without tiring exertions.
I got my job -a new one- through a few friendly words and a firm hand shake. I only had to be there at that very instance, at a local eatery-cum -bar. That's God.
But I had written a thousand letters and shadowed my family hierarchy. But when it came, none of my efforts mattered, it has always been there waiting, and i was looking for it were I ought not.

And Nigeria, She was ill at ease, worrying over the likely fallout of the elections. It had been preordained; we would be unscathed anyhow.

All of life is a stage, we cannot act the part we aren't assigned. There's no one better or inferior, failure and success are only in relation to our inherent callings and never by the benchmark set by any.

2015 closes on a high for me. As we stand on the threshold of 2016, l pray to find the grace of God, for obidience and wisdom and restraint. For I am a man with a man's failings. Sexual rascality has been the weak side of many a man, and I am no exception. I love women, there are no other perfect creation. What can compare to the softness of her skin, or the gentle slope of her curves or the rhythmic bounce of her rare ?And they appear to be easily taken with me too - God help me.

I have a lot to be thankful for in this year 2015, so believe me when I say words aren't even enough for me to say 'em all.

For the good times and the bad times, Thankful I am...That the Lord has been mindful of me, always has and always will be till eternity, I remain Thankful...

And so, as the year rolls to an end, I have also keyed in into these declarations - ThanksLiving and Glory to Glory!

I smiled when I saw this..Thanks charis for the honour

Actually guys this year is indeed my year. There is so much I'm thankful to God for that I lack the words to use
First off, by God's grace, two graduates were produced from my family this year with beautiful results
I'm also thankful to God for dads promotion, Stella's mobilization, and for giving me a job.
This year, God's grace I've discovered alot of potentials in me, learnt alot, seen alot and still in the process
Of course there were challenging times but the good news is God keeps pulling me through; that when I look back now, the memories seem fun.

Nairaland has definitely taught me alot and because its people not robots that make things happen here, I want to say a loud THANKS to everyone that has made me smiled here, especially iamcharis, sylvalord, theagba, miclez, tiffanyj, thronekid, oluwabuqqyolo, mariecakes, godvilla, cutehector, kinglekan, mazado, acekidc4, juniormusa etcetera
I love you all! cheers to 2016

The time will fail if I attempt to mention all that I'm grateful for. First and foremost, I'm grateful to God for the gift of life. ....for myself and my loved ones......I'm grateful for my means of livelihood that's has gifted me some level of fulfilment and dignity as a person .....My work is largely responsible for all I am today and will probably be in the future.

Also I'm grateful for my health. There were times within the year I was inundated with the thoughts of sickness and possibly death( I'm yet to get over the unfortunate, premature death of my late cousin. Still very sad and depressing). At a point the thoughts of death became like a huge obsession but gradually I pulled myself from the pit of death and morbid thoughts.

I'm grateful for my career and profession. Being largely responsible for the health and safety of your colleagues can be so satisfying and fulfilling. We've not recorded any serious injuries in months.

It's being a learning year. Financial lessons abound. My passion for enterprenuership was kindled like never before. My hatred for the rat race intensified and I was able to identify all that I'll need to do in 2016 to gradually pull myself away from the boring Rat Race. I never thought I had the skills to make more money beyond my 9-5 job but my deep passion for quality life forced me to learn what it takes to make it really big. IAmCharis, you can't really make it BIG if you're scared of taking enormous but calculated RISKS. It's either you risk it OR you're at RISK. And I'm so grateful to God for using me to assist many of my colleagues with planning their personal finances. I'm on my way to becoming the billionaire I've always dreamed off. I hate being broke. I hate it.

All in all, I'm grateful for all my great friends on NL.

Thanks for this thread. God, thanks for everything.
