Opened Wikipedia this morning and some sort of a form(beggi beggi form) popped up.

You clicked on it purposedly. That's not their home page. Its normal. Wikipedia is run as a non-profit site. If they used advertisers the site would become like those 2 kobo blogs Nigerians open daily where for every one click three pop-up windows open automatically. I have no idea what they need money for but I think its for hosting and payment of professionals who upload factual research on the site. If one ever tried editing a wikipedia article you'd realize its a herculean task most people'd rather pay someone else to do. Don't knock their hustle OP instead appreciate the fact you're given an option to contribute to a great resource available to the common man. 4 Likes |
