I was accosted online by someone who may have a fetish for monotheism, who challenged me that the Yoruba spiritual practices can not be monotheism as I posited because it has 401 deities. I then explained that he will need to define what monotheism is then because to me it is the recognition of only one God which is what the Yoruba practice is. A one God of total objectivity, a gentleman God who presides over a council of 401 irunmales. The Christian God is a trinity, there is a certain 24 elders mentioned in the Bible. The Quran God made jinns and has angels like Jubril. So if those are monotheism, how is the Yoruba practice not monotheism? I pointed out that I have nothing against the other isms like polytheism, deism, pantheism or any other nomenclature but that the Yoruba like most of their neighbours practice objective monotheism. Not fascistic monotheism as obtainable in Abrahamic religions. I also explained that none of the 401 irunmale in council are actually deities to be pushed around by humans and that no one really knows all their names. They are not necessarily deities, just irunmale in council. I am however not an expert.

Also, the main deity to be worshipped by anyone according to Yoruba thought is your head, your ori, yourself and that does not make the practice atheistic. It is only after duly propitiating or worshipping your head that you may then worship any other thing. Those other things are not the 401 irunmale as is commonly thought by many but entities stretching to infinity. No limit. The most prominent are the orisas, Eeguns, nature and etc. Again all sacrifices are mere rituals but rituals are established means of communication by encryption with the other world ratified by the Awo. The most important thing is nothing but your own ori, your head and not any orisa. You are the embodiment of all orisas, an image of God. The practice of offering certain foods to some orisa are rituals based on favourite foods of some incarnations of those orisas. You get results because it is done with sincerity. Afterall if you leave anything at a junction for Esu, you have provided food for hungry dogs. However, nothing, whether in the physical or the spiritual can be achieved without rituals which means an accepted method of approach. That is the Yoruba monotheism of the Gentleman God, Olodumare. It is never imposed on people and people are not burnt in hell for unbelief. Olodumare is behind truth and honesty whether or not you are offering physical sacrifice to the deities. If your head is under your control, you may not need to be seeking so much of spiritual help except out of courtesy. Everything around you is Ifa if you pay attention. The Karma of being under the gentle man God is easy to envisage. Spiritual peace, good neighbourliness, spiritual objectivity and an absence of an inordinate ambition to convert others using threats and an empty promise of paradise for believers leading to wars. When under Olodumare, Chukwuabiama or Ubangiji, there is no quarrel over God in whatever guise. You are saved by your character, not your beliefs and not by grace. That is the Karma, the favourable Karma of following Olodumare.

Somebody said people should not be forced to do things, so they should not be forced to follow a particular spirituality. Yes they should not be forced to follow a particular spirituality but they can be statutorily compelled to drop a harmful way of life or belief. Law and order requires persuasion, winning people over and then some force to keep people in line.

You should not impose anything on people but your freedom ends where that of others begin. No society should look on while some people paint God as a mad man like Christians and Muslims are doing. That should not be acceptable in a civilized society. God is a gentleman, not a mad man. If we allow such evil of character assassination of God to continue in the name of freedom of religion then we should not be surprised when reaping the Karma. There should be freedom but not to the extent of depicting God as irrational.

There is a Karma for everything. The Karma for jumping up is that you will come down again due to gravity. If a nation adopts capitalism, the Karma is different from the ones that adopted socialism. If you institute marriage equality in your country teaching gay marriage and homosexuality as a norm to children, your Karma will be different from those that downplay such. The Karma for thinking for yourself is different from the one of relying on people to think for you and etc.

The Karma for allowing God to be portrayed in your country as a sadistic and maniacal beast who burns people in hell fire for unbelief as is done by Christians and Muslims is a terrible Karma which is eating up the world gradually. What you would not like done to yourself, do not support it to be done to others including God. This is the only way to be sure of a good Karma in any aspect of human endeavour.

Bros in the Holy Bible the 24 elders aren't gods no one worships dem,the trinity is just a representation of the One God in his three forms.
In the Holy Qu'an The Almighty Allah S.A.W created three beings Man out of the Earth,Angels out of light and Jinns out of fire and Allah put the Angels and the Jinns in service of man. Don't you go around doing blind comparisons

The innovation by Mohammed that God is one without associates makes no sense whatsoever because no one does anything alone and we are images of God, if we cant do anything alone, God can not do anything alone too. Mohammed brought a lot of demonic innovations, another is that he is the last prophet, the final mouthpiece of God and seal of prophets. An unfortunate claim by a megalomaniac with a large ego because no man born of a woman can be anything that is closed to other humans. I urge you to abandon Islam and return to the true God known to your ancestors so as to become a sound human being with full powers.

Mohammed a fellow who attacked people for practicing polytheism, who killed a man and raped his wife on thesame day is surely in the hellfire he threatened people with. Please retrace your step. May the Almighty God help you.
