New year, new me

I can see in your countenance
you tried to crack a smile again
just to cover your past flaws
but there it goes again
peeping out from your dusty bag of guilt

you tried to take solace in a new year resolution
to restitute your sins and turn a new leaf
but like a pack of cards,it came falling to your face
a season of fighting temptation you thought
another redemption song to resort

Even when the future seems unclear and deep inside, fears too many to persevere
we shade our grey,we fake a smile,we pray the shame pass away and the fame comes alive,we laugh,we weep,we hope,we fear and that's the burden of a new year.
