January Transfer Window: Who Is Your Team Looking To Buy? by femivvita: 7:53pm On Dec 30, 2015 |
The January transfer window is almost upon us as Premier League managers search for the signings to make their season. While Guus Hiddink will be looking for names to save Chelsea’s season, Claudio Ranieri will be on the lookout for the men who can keep Leicester in the hunt for the title. From Premier League form men like Jamie Vardy and Sadio Mane to European stars Antoine Griezmann and Lucas Moura, there is plenty of interest to do business over the next month. Here is a preview of what each Premier League side is trying to do during the January transfer window: ARSENAL Arsenal can sense their best chance to win the Premier League since 2004, are signing Mohamed Elneny and may not add more in January unless Danny Welbeck’s injury dictates a need for another striker. Positions wanted: Defensive midfield, striker Budget: £70m Potential players coming in: Mohamed Elneny (Basel £7.4m deal agreed); Aleksandr Kokorin (D Moscow), Lucas Perez (Deportivo), Victor Osimhen (Ultimate Strikers Academy) Potential players going out: David Ospina, Mathieu Debuchy (loan), Serge Gnabry (loan), Alex Iwobi (loan) ASTON VILLA Remi Garde is facing the improbable task of keeping Aston Villa in the Premier League and Randy Lerner will back him in January in the vain hope he gives them a fighting chance. Positions wanted: Goalkeeper, left back, right back, midfield, striker Budget: £20m Potential players coming in: Loic Remy (Chelsea), Mathieu Debuchy (Arsenal, loan), Sam Byram (Leeds), Morgan Amalfitano (Free), Jeremy Toulalan (Monaco), Wahbi Khazri (Bordeaux ), Gokhan Inler (Leicester), Steven Naismith (Everton ), Laurent Depoitre (Gent), Lovre Kalinic (Hajduk Split) Potential players going out: Carles Gil, Gabby Agbonlahor, Charles N’Zogbia, Libor Kozak, Philippe Senderos, Jack Grealish BOURNEMOUTH Eddie Howe has given Bournemouth real hope they can survive this season despite a catalogue of injuries but they are prepared to spend to ensure the squad isn’t too thin for the games ahead. Positions wanted: Centre back, winger, striker Budget: £30m Potential players coming in: Juan Iturbe (Roma ), Carlo Zuniga, Jonathan de Guzman (Napoli ), Curtis Davies (Hull), Demarai Gray (Birmingham), Andros Townsend (Spurs ), Callum McManaman (West Brom), Henri Saivet (Bordeaux), Jordan Graham, Benik Afobe (Wolves), Zach Clough (Bolton), Ross McCormack (Fulham) Potential players going out: Matt Ritchie CHELSEA Guus Hiddink will spend a few days assessing his players and those out on loan that can be recalled but inevitably will look at adding two or three new faces to invigorate an under-performing squad. Positions wanted: Centre back, centre midfield, striker Budget: £60m Potential players coming in: Alex Teixeira (Shakhtar), Jamie Vardy (Leicester), John Stones (Everton), Amadou Diawara (Bologna), Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid ), Gonzalo Higuain (Napoli), Baye Oumas Niasse (L Moscow), Saido Berahino (West Brom) Potential players going out: Papy Djilobodji (loan), Jamal Blackman (loan), Patrick Bamford (loan) CRYSTAL PALACE New investment means Alan Pardew should be able to keep his tight-knit squad intact and strengthen the key areas he believes can help them kick on for the realistic goal of European qualification. Positions wanted: Centre back, striker Budget: £15m Potential players coming in: Georg Niedermeier (Stuttgart), Loic Remy (Chelsea), Charlie Austin (QPR), Simone Zaza (Juventus , loan), Islam Slimani (Sporting), Alex Pato (Corinthians), Michy Batshuayi (Marseille ) Potential players going out: Dwight Gayle... I doubt Chelsea spending only £60m after all they are through now, one expect them to buy more players as usual. I also doubt Jamie Vardy leaving Leicester for Chelsea this season. |
