Consented action or not,
From fertilization the struggle begin,
The host bond with what creator brought,
The greatest love I've ever seen.

Days run into weeks,
Weeks into months,
The household is blessed,
Innocent one cried, crawl, walked, grew
Sojourned over the face of the earth,
Multiplied, helped, disappointed, sinned;
But who is perfect.
Wait...
Why build up to demolish?
Why learn to walk, then lie forever?
Why open the eyes later to close it?
Why smile if not forever?
Why fatten up for the day of decay?
The father the son sees no more,
The daughters in grief for their mothers,
Parents with deep stare of scars in their hearts.
How dare you cut the bond of friendship?
How did you creep into our midst?

Hundreds of bones can't stand upright,
The orator can't speak for us to hear,
Billions of nerves can't feel the termite,
Oh death, thou art unfair.

This thread has now made my eyes RED.

Lost a very close colleague just this month due to an auto crash while coming from Abuja. He's due to go for service by February.


I can't lie, his Terrible demise will remain one of the greatest sadness i would ever had.

This is really deep cry. I lost two most important people in my life (2015) thinking about it after reading this poem makes me sad....

Coming back to this thread, i almost died yesternight. Maybe this poem was a forewarning, poetry is really spiritual.
