Women always think twice during pregnancy before eating anything. They also read and ask about the side effects of any drug prescribed to them before using it. There are lots of precautionary measures to be followed by a pregnant woman such as being careful about using alcohol, drugs and medication. There are also lot of fruits that when taken they would go a long way in adding important nutrients needed during pregnancy.

Let’s take a look at five best fruits to take during pregnancy

Apple



Many women experience constipation during pregnancy which makesthem to excrete hard faeces.Due to the difficulty in excreting faeces, pregnant women are advised to include fruit with fiber in their diets. Apple is a fruit rich in fiber which helps maintain regular bowel movements and clean system in pregnant women.

Avocado



Taking 400 micrograms (mcg) of folic acid before and during pregnancy helps prevent major birth defects of the baby spinal cord and baby’s brain. Avocado is a fruit rich in folic acid which can help prevent baby from neural tube defects by at least fifty percent.

Sweet Lime



Nausea and vomiting is common among pregnant women most especially when the pregnancy is in the early stage. If you are a pregnant woman suffering from nausea and vomiting, you are not alone. Nearly half of pregnant women suffer from this ailment. Sweet lime is a fruit that can help reduce nausea and vomiting during pregnancy

Mangoes



This fruit is a healthy fruit for pregnant women. It is rich in Iron, Vitamin A andC , potassium and folic acid which are important nutrients for pregnant women. It is also known to be rich in fiber that helps prevents constipation in pregnant women.

Water Melon



Due to the high water content (92 percent), water lemon helps in dehydration and reduces morning sickness common to pregnant women. It also contains vital minerals that helps prevent third-trimester muscle cramps. It also eases heart burn and reduces the blockages in the vein and the muscles and prevents light swelling of the feet and hands common during pregnancy.
