Good morning!
❓What is the best time to eat dinner?
One question i get lots of times from many of my subscriber is...
Will I gain weight if I eat late at night?
Infact, I received a message from a subscriber recently that says....
"I have been told to eat my last meal at 6pm so I don't gain weight!.
Maybe you've been told about this before as well, but let me just say....
This theory is WRONG!
You see....
What determines the time that you eat your last meal at night depends on what time you go to bed.
This time will differ from person to person
depending on your work schedules, body clock etc.
Take for instance, if you work full time and don't get home until 9pm, then I would NOT expect your last meal of the day to be 6pm!
That would be far too long for the body to go without some calories.
The key is to follow a simple guideline....
1. Eat your last meal of the day not later than 3 hours before you sleep.
2. Eat less of carbs and more of protein as your last meal of the day.
3. Avoid drinking coke, cake, pastries, or any other sugary foods as your last meal of the night.
Some good example of ideal last meal of the day that you can eat are...
a. Fruit Salad
b. Vegetable Salad
c. Ofada Rice & Beans
d. Fish Peppersoup
e. Cooked Beans
f. Chicken Stew/Fish Vegetable stew With Plantain
If you notice, the foods contain less carbs and more of protein and vegetables as well.
Whatever you do, don't 'wash' your food down with coke, fanta, alcohol etc.
Make sure you drink a lot of water instead. Don't neglect water as it's very crucial for your weight loss.
