Job Summary:
The Business Development Officer (BDO) will primarily assist PETRONOMICS in establishing and expanding its business by providing information on: local market conditions, and establishing contacts. In addition, the BDO will be required to undertake industry research and market analysis to determine client development opportunities suited to the oil and gas sector.
Reporting to the Senior Business Development Officer & Client Service (SBDO), the officer will have significant autonomy to assist in the development of industry clusters, work with established industry groups and organizations to address short and long term growth objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide organizational support to programmes and administration departmennts:
• Represent PETRONOMICS at regional, territorial and national meetings and conferences on topics in key sectors
and look for economic development opportunities.
• Research and provide recommendations on various marketing opportunities
• Implement projects as directed by the Senior Business Development & Client Service.
• Manage budgets for workplans and designated training projects
• Work with hired Consultants, monitor progress and results on specific trainings
• Help create industry databases
• Work with other staff on communications activities
• Prepare interview reports of visitations, noting opportunities and challenges
• Support these companies by providing information as requested for business development
• Facilitate introduction of public sector business services with industry where applicable
• Work the booth at specific tradeshows and conferences, set up and take down PETRONOMICS booth as required
• Attend economic development conferences, annual general meetings as directed
• Represent PETRONOMICS on various committees and task forces as directed by Management.
• Preparation of Marketing Materials Pertaining to Assigned clients
• Work with programmes in drafting articles for media publications
• Develop opportunities for seminars and presentations by PETRONOMICS
• Regularly review relevant information on the website and recommend changes, also ensure training information is up to date.
• Support the organisation in Business Development Initiatives.
• Prepare and maintain information requested by prospects and clients
• Prepare letters and information packages to prospects
• Be knowledgeable and provide up to date PETRONOMICS information to stakeholders
• Check email and electronic updates and respond in a timely manner
• Read up to date information pertaining to oil and gas industry sectors
• Perform other duties as required

Location:
Gbagada, Lagos

Required Qualification:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Social science/Business related courses.

Experience:
Minimum of 1 year experience in a business development role.

• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and cooperatively
• Proven written and presentation skills.
• Consistently exercises good judgment, maturity, and diplomacy.

• High degree of discretion dealing with confidential information
