1. Just incase you think he’s not an African, here’s a bit on Akon!
Akon's age and biography are a bit of a mystery. Clear is, that he was born in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. He grew up in Dakar, the capital city of Senegal, and was raised by his father, a Senegalese percussionist, who taught him a lot about music. As a teenager, he permanently moved back to the USA.
It is not entirely clear how much time Akon spent in jail, but it was the place where he began to appreciate his musical background. After his release, Akon started recording in his home studio, and one if his audition tapes reached the office of Universal. This gave birth to his first Album “Trouble” in the year 2004.




2. Yemi Alade fondly called Mama Africa. She is an award-winning Nigerian afro pop/R&B artiste, actress, entertainer and a judge on TECNO Own The Stage. Alade has been featured on the covers of several magazines and performed around the world, sharing the stage and songs with Mary J. Blige, Shina Peters, M.I, Wizkid, Becca, May D, Wajeand Yemi Sax.





3. Tanzanian Star, Nasibu Abdul Jumma, popularly known by his stage name Diamond Platnumz, is a Bongo Flava recording artist and dancer from Tanzania. He is best known for his hit song "Number One".





4. Sauti Sol is a Kenyan afro-pop band formed in Nairobi by vocalists Bien-Aimé Baraza, Willis Chimano and Savara Mudigi in 2005. Initially an a capella group, guitarist Polycarp Otieno joined before they named themselves Sauti. Bien-Aime Baraza is the lead singer and who I think is the best singer in Nairaobi! Not to mention, he’s also a judge on TECNO Own The Stage along side “Mama Africa” and M.I.





5. Innocent Ujah Idibia, better known by his stage name 2face Idibia, is a Nigerian singer-songwriter, record producer and entrepreneur. He officially discontinued the use of the name Tuface and selected Tu-baba as his stage name. He is one of the most decorated and successful Afro pop artists in Africa. He is also one of the most bankable artists in Africa.
