Eating rice every Sunday is no new thing to Nigerian's, especially when the family is together. wink

Mostly common in the developing rural areas.
Even in occasions, rice is common and its mostly ate.

So I want to ask, is it compulsory for Nigerian's not to eat any other food than rice(stewed or jollof) on Sundays

Mind you, I just ate mine... grin

You are right though....i think its more attached to the christian belief of keeping the Sabbath day holy...meaning its like we are celebrating God every sunday even thru our meals cos we believe its a unique day

Not everyone.Growing up,it was pounded yam on sunday afternoons.
My wife follows the same choice.She doesn't see rice as a treat.

I understand the need for you to be curious and eager to figure things out, that's a good thing...

But I find myself wondering despite all attempt to circumvent the thought, if there aren't more important things to be curious about than why Nigerians eat rice on Sundays.
