He had a boss that suddenly started looking for something else. She, a single mother, would involve him in a field trip and would want to lodge him in same hotel room which he severally declined. She later went berserk calling him names at intervals, embarrassing him before junior staff and complaining of frivolities.

What he noticed was a statement she started repeating almost on daily basis. "I am warning you that there are issues" to which he inquired to know what the issues were. There was no explanation and the warning for the "issues" continued.

He was summoned to a meeting in a small cubicle, a session where he was insulted by the lady and the MD in a caricature of questions putting him to ridicule. He was asked to choose between resigning and being fired. And that if he got fired he goes without any benefit and if he resigns, he could have some change to manage till he gets something else.

All the questions he asked were tagged "stupid" by the lady and re echoed by the MD. He chose to resign anyway. Coming to his office, his laptop had disappeared and his table deserted except a notice that red "Please leave after submitting your resignation and choose a day to bring back the company's T shirts and other wears". What of the notice period in employment letter? he was told that the company would rather pay.

On submitting the resignation letter, he was not allowed to copy his personal things in the laptop as the IT was instructed not to give the laptop to him. A security man appeared!!!!! "sorry sir the MD wants to see you". on reaching the MD's office a letter was shown him to sign which read that he would never reveal any of the company's secret and confidential information bla bla bla. He signed any way doing anything possible to avoid the dismissal (disobedience to the office of the MD was a ground for dismissal in the contract of employment).

Same security guy led him to the door, a protest that he had something to take from his laptop met, "oga leave first abeg. why u no call them later...." He left in the watchful eyes of other staff who were peeping from different directions.

A meeting was summoned after that, he was told and other staff warned sternly to mind their business and that he came in with a fake certificate, thats why he was asked to leave. All fabricated by the lady.

His residential area was agog with the news that he was sacked because of fake certificate.

He wanted to let this out to the public because majority of the people he met said that this is a normal employment issue in Nigeria. They said its normal and employees do not really have much say.
