As Inter continue to look for ways to downsize their squad, the out-of-favour Super Eagles hitman is likely to be on his way to England after spending majority of last season on the bench.

Quoting FcInterNews, the report noted that the Premiership side have made a €7 million bid for him, adding that manager Harry Redknapp has seen in him a promising player at the age of 22.

The London outfit will, however, have to fight off competition from Italian Serie A sides like Napoli, Parma, and Premiership rivals Everton for his signature. It could be recalled theat the player was close to joining the Toffees this past winter, but missed the deal due to the inability to secure a work permit before the end of the transfer window.

Nsofor has played for the Super Eagles since 2005 and has become known for his incredible pace. He only made nine appearances for the Nerazzurri this past season, finding the back of the net once in the process.

BY ROMANUS UGWU

Succour may come the way of Super Eagles and Stoke's combative midfielder, Seyi George Olofinjana, following the latest transfer rumour linking him with a possible move to the French Ligue One outfit, Monaco.

The report disclosed that Monaco would be willing to table an offer within the range of £3 million (about N717 million) to secure the signature of the former Wolves playmaker after watching him put an impressive performance in the Super Eagles victory over France in a friendly tie recently.

Although the giant Nigerian ball winner arrived at The Britannia Stadium from Wolverhampton Wanderers for a transfer fee in the region of £3milllion, the report noted that he would be willing to dump the Premiership side after enduring a tough season with The Potters.

French radio RMC reported that there has been contact between the two clubs about a possible deal being done, just as it noted that manager Pulis is unlikely to stand in the way of the man who has been dreaming of turning his back against the Premiership side.

Meanwhile, Olofinjana would head out to Austria with his teammates for a pre-season training in July.

Olofinjana will have to rush back to base at The Britannia Stadium in the middle of next month, after his coach, Tony Pulis said he is happy to take his squad out to Austria for preseason, with two matches already lined up for them during the tour.

Olofinjana and other players in The Potters will travel to the state of Styria on July 15 and settle down to make the best of their training and matches during a week-long stay, going by details announced by Pulis.

"It's a lovely country, because it's so quiet, I like Austria and we're all really looking forward to it.

Martins to join Olofinjana for N1.2b deal
From Soccerstar Desk

Saturday, June 27, 2009
If feelers from the British media is anything to go by, recuperating Super Eagles striker, Obafemi Martins, would join compatriot Seyi George Olofinjana, following recent report that Premiership side, Stoke City, have concluded arrangement to table a whooping £5 million (about N1.2 billion) to take him out of St James’ Park in this summer transfer window.

The report disclosed that Stoke boss, Tony Pulis, had already indicated interest in raiding the relegated Newcastle United for the signature of the Nigerian international in a £5 million swoop, stressing that the Potters officials had made contact with the Magpies to inquire about Martins’ availability.

Although Stoke are expected to face competition from Aston Villa, Everton and Spurs, manager, Pulis, has promised to grab the former Inter Milan forward as he bids to boost his firepower ahead of Stoke’s second season in the top flight.

Also on Pulis’ radar are Newcastle’s Michael Owen and West Ham’s Dean Ashton, 25, who missed most of last season with an ankle injuty.
