Read on to see why you need a vintage hat as an accessory!

Ah, the 1920s! When the Americas doubled their wealth, Herbert Macaulay formed the Nigerian National Democratic Party and the setting for the very famous “Great Gatsby” novel. Commonly referred to as the “Roaring Twenties”, the 20s were a decade of jazz and fashion! Even though there was much conflict in nearly all parts of the world, there was too much excitement in the West to ignore.

Unlike the guys of today, men always wore hats. A hat was a man’s identity.
Even though hats are worn less now, a man still needs a vintage hat to pull out on occasion.

Just look at the men on Boardwalk Empire, The Great Gatsby and Downtown Abbey. Pure vintage class!

With the TV Shows, and Films of today emphasizing the glory that was the 20s, vintage hats are seeing a rise in sale; something that hasn’t happened for decades.

Here are some reasons why you should get yourself a 1920s hat!

YOU COME OFF AS CONFIDENT.
Studies show that men who were “old-fashioned” hats come off as more confident than usual. Maybe they think for a second they’re actually in the 1920s! Whatever the reason, a vintage hat is a real confidence booster!

THEY’RE CLASSY.
As long as you’re not wearing them indoors (please do not), vintage hats are very classy when worn with the right outfit. Not only does it look classy, it is an indication that you know your fashion. Seeing as not many people opt for an oldie hat, your doing so shows you know what you’re doing.

THEY’RE MYSTERIOUS.
Again, when paired with a greater outfit, and tilted forward, the oldie hat is one that causes others to wonder. A bold statement about hidden charm and creativity, it builds intrigue in the mind of passers-by.

THEY’RE UNIQUE.
One thing for sure when wearing a vintage hat is that you’ll stand out. They’re even starting to make a mark in the hipster fashion world and soon, will be a huge fashion force like they were back in the day!

THEY ARE GENTLEMANLY.
Making an effort to not only purchase, but wear these hats are a huge statement. In the midst of the baseball hats, snapbacks, and sock hats, hipster fashion is on the steady rise, but one word surely comes to mind seeing a well dressed man in a 1920s hat: GENTLEMAN.

If anyone says, fedoras, straws, or any other hats are not fashionable, they clearly don’t know fashion. Hats used to be the epitome of fashion and even though they aren’t where they are now, these vintage accessories really don’t do wrong.

The key is always to dress right! A hat like this can make you look horribly wrong when paired with a terrible outfit, and no matter what, Hat Etiquette still applies: Don’t wear it indoors!

While these hats won’t get you a girl, or fix your problems, it sure does add a certain swagger to your look that can’t be pulled off by any other accessory.
