The economy is presently hard in Nigeria...so hard that even the stones are jealous smiley And, it does not take genius to either see it so or agree with me.

However, it does take a little creative thinking to see that with or without the government, a life can still be meaningful within Naija's borders.

If you want that life to be yours, kindly follow me a bit, let's explore...your options are:

1. Independent sales/manufacturers rep:

You'll be pleasantly surprised: there are many companies that either import or manufacture products that no one has noticed yet! An example would be a 'remote' company somewhere in Lagos manufacturing phone chargers powered by ordinary dry cell batteries.

Now, as a folk who is 'cashless', simply approach such a company and offer to help spread the word. Many will jump at the offer if you can prove that you will deliver and won't run away. The great part? The goods are almost, always given to you without any upfront/down/part payment.

Now, what could be better than that?

2. Independent driver/deliveryman or woman:

It you are without a job (but have access to a car), you should turn the car from a mere wasteful 'liability' to an income churning 'asset'.

How?

It's quite simple: become an independent driver or delivery man/woman.

Those kids in your estate/down the street could be dropped off at school/picked back for as much as 30k a month/per child.

Or, if you would rather not bother with children, offer to be an independent delivery person for a startup. It would please you to know that many of such startups are usually in dire need of cash and would appreciate - and handsomely pay for such a service (especially as it will save them serious costs and responsibility).

3. Blogging:

Blogging pays, big time - no sane Nigerian can doubt this.

If you need further details, ask Linda Ikeji smiley

4. Cell phone accessory retail:

Everyone in Nigeria uses a cell phone. No, not everyone...but most people do, right?

Now, do you know that accessories for such phones are still a luxury in many parts of Nigeria? If you live in Lagos, where they are cheap and in abundance, why not 'export' them to other dealers around the country and make some profit? If you live outside Lagos, why not tap into the glory Lagos offers and make serious money online in the process?

It's that easy...especially when you understand that a desktop charger that retails for less than N100 in Lagos sells for between N300 and N500 elsewhere!

5. Tutoring:

Your brain is good for a purpose! Use it and make money!!

If you are good with math, why not offer to tutor kids in the neighborhood for a small fee?

What of the Literature or history or Physics whiz?

Monetize your genius man...it is cheap. Why allow your genius to waste?!

6. Selling online:

The future of Nigeria rests online...if you have not seen it so, it's time to wear those special contact lens smiley

You can start selling on Jumia or Konga with as little as 10k and a minimal knowledge of mini importation. If you are ambitious, you can extend your ambition to Amazon and that is where you'll truly understand that money can be made online even with VERY little funds.

7. Bulk SMS:

Bulk SMS is still very profitable and a silent income generator for those that know it's power...plus, it requires very minimal capital. If you are well connected, there is nothing that will stop you from netting over 20k monthly (at least).

Now, isn't that better than begging or blaming the government?!

8. Selling cars:

Before you shout, kindly understand that a car mustn't be yours before you can sell it.

All you need to do here is to be smarter than the seller, advertise his/her car for him/her online and set a higher price. Once the car is sold via your efforts, you pocket a clean profit - sometimes well over 100k per deal!

If you doubt this, head over to the auto section to confirm.

However, you must have a great knowledge of cars/knack for research or you'll be messing up big time. If you still think there's something as V4, then, you may still need to learn some basics before proceeding.

9. Fixing computers:

Everyone who can afford a computer today - and knows the importance, has one. It is that important.

Why not learn to fix damaged/corrupted ones and make money in the process? Remember, you can learn online. On your own. In your bedroom!

10. Becoming an online prof.:

If you are a shy genius, this one is for you.

Platforms like AcademicExperts, EssayWriters, Udemy etc all require your genius to satisfy their clients be it tackling academic challenges or teaching them a valuable skill via video.

Kindly note that is a super cool way of making money without any investment and it can make you richer than your wildest imaginations!

11. Blog/website design:

As the demands for blogging rises, so does the services of those who can set up blogs...

Why not master any of the CMS out there or theme frameworks and become an expert, helping people online round the world for a fee?

12. Social media marketing/selling:

If you have an idea...or at good at something, don't spill your genius on social media for comments and likes alone...create a group, make it premium and watch as your poverty vanishes away!

Why make your ideas so cheap and easily accessible to those who may even have the guts to argue or disbelieve you?!

13. Becoming an author via Amazon Kindle:

Amazon Kindle pays and pays big.

The good thing about this platform is that it pays passively whether you work or not!

If you are a great writer, this is the place to write - not NL literature section!

**************

Any further excuse why you would complain of lack of money or lack of a job again?!
