Pls can anyone recommend a suitable synthetic engine oil replacement. i would appreciate it is based on actual usage and not as a means to advertise any brand.

Also what is the effect on my engine if i replace the brand i previously used. FYI i do not know the previous service history from the original owner but i guess he was not using 5w 30.

I drive a 2000 camry and I am wondering the best oil filter to use for Total quartz9000 cos I read that when buying full synthetic oil one should buy an oil filter that will be able to cover the full life span of the engine oil or almost full life span

if you can't find an Oem oil filter that you can stretch the mileage change interval, then replace oil filters at shorter intervals e.g every 5000km

I use MRS full synthetic 5W40 priced @ 6500 for 5litres. I have been using it for two years now on my toyota sienna 2000. I replace it @ every 8000km/6months which ever comes first.

A lot of Nigerian blended oils are advertised as "full synthetic". In the absence of an oil analysis how do we really know they are what they claim ?

Would you believe if I told you that a popular oil manufacturer was releasing and selling base oil as finished motor oil. This was able to happen because the indian company contracted to include the additives into the oil was not doing so. This scam was able to go on for a while undetected because the indian company had connived with the QC head of the oil manufacturer to sign off that the products were up to standard.

How can you really tell that what you are purchasing is full synthetic ?

I can't guarantee its quality but I believe Mrs is not a small business. but the oil has served me well through out that mile without losing quality.
